zbeta Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 do you mean this picture ... it´s in c:\windows\system32\sysdm.cpl (bitmap 1033)
Alanoll Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 he was talking about the place where HP normally puts their logo and support information. I'm guessing he wants to add his own.
mazin Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 do you mean this picture ... it´s in c:\windows\system32\sysdm.cpl (bitmap 1033)Great finding! I didn't know that. I think it's the whole applet of System Properties.Have you played with it?
mazin Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 yes i did .. hehe take a look ^^icons: crystalXPWOW! COOL!One more question: Are there certain specs for that pic to work fine? I mean: width, height, density, jpg, bmp, etc..?
gabriel_buc Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 @zbeta: what progrma did u use to edit sysdm.cplI tried with Reshacker. I manage to replace the bitmap, I save the file, but when i reopen it it's the old file with the old bitmap
zbeta Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 @mazin .. make sure its have the same size as the original pic ... the pic must be in bmp format! that's it!@gabriel_buc .. i use Resource Hacker too. What you do is that you first make a backup of the current sysdm.cpl in windows/system32 and you restart your computer and boot in to the Windows XP installation cd. When you reach the first prompt, press "R" for recovery console. When inside the console, you copy your new sysdm.cpl to the windows/system32 folder and overwrite the existing sysdm.cpl
xb00t Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Is there a way to change the picture through a XP uA CD? A regtweak, a .ini or a plane ol' batch file/command?
