I hear people talking about taking their computer's temperature. With all the viruses going around, it's probably a good idea. J/K. How do you take it's temp? Do I need to buy a thermometer? I have a Sony Vaio RX650, is it just a waste of time?

All you need is a program like H-Monitor and your motherboard has to have the ability to read temperatures, fan speeds etc.

Keep in mind : If your motherboard doesn't have that ability, then the program will display an incorrect value

H-Board is the most id*** proof temp monitor that I have used yet. I just opened it and it had my temps. Thanks but I see that my CPU temps are high! :-(

Is there a temp monitor for graphics cards?

My Radeon 64mb ddr fan is getting a bit dodgy, and haven't got a replacement fan at the moment, so for the time being I just want to monitor its temperature.

I know Asus has a temp monitor for their cards but it takes away from the card's performance to have it active. It's called Smartdoctor if I remember correctly.

Thank you all for your responses. I happen to have a 478 pin P4 so I think maybe i'll try Conan's suggestion. I don't suppose there is a choice between Celsius or Fahrenheit is there? LOL. Thanks again.

Yes you can change the option of Celcius or Farenheit. Download it from here:
