lynchknot Posted July 7, 2002 Posted July 7, 2002 I hear people talking about taking their computer's temperature. With all the viruses going around, it's probably a good idea. J/K. How do you take it's temp? Do I need to buy a thermometer? I have a Sony Vaio RX650, is it just a waste of time?

I have a Sony Vaio RX650, is it just a waste of time? All you need is a program like H-Monitor and your motherboard has to have the ability to read temperatures, fan speeds etc. Keep in mind : If your motherboard doesn't have that ability, then the program will display an incorrect valueBlackwar

Conan Posted July 7, 2002 Posted July 7, 2002 I use Intel Active Monitor (you must have an Intel Motherboard).
Rick Posted July 7, 2002 Posted July 7, 2002 H-Board is the most id*** proof temp monitor that I have used yet. I just opened it and it had my temps. Thanks but I see that my CPU temps are high! :-(Rick
Aaron Posted July 7, 2002 Posted July 7, 2002 Is there a temp monitor for graphics cards? My Radeon 64mb ddr fan is getting a bit dodgy, and haven't got a replacement fan at the moment, so for the time being I just want to monitor its temperature.

It's called Smartdoctor if I remember correctly.
lynchknot Posted July 7, 2002 Author Posted July 7, 2002 Thank you all for your responses. I happen to have a 478 pin P4 so I think maybe i'll try Conan's suggestion. I don't suppose there is a choice between Celsius or Fahrenheit is there? LOL. Thanks again.
