Hello I have read most of the stuff here on the unattened install, and I am still lost.

All I would like is to be able to install XP with out putting in the key and maybe install sound and video drivers.

1\Slipstream XPsp1

2\Built my cd structure exactly as one of the guides

3\Follow the instruction to make a unnattend install

4\Use WinIso to make my ISO image, Used a XP Boot.bin to make it bootable.

5\Burned the image with Nero, on a cd rw in case i made mistakes

Than i decided to test the cd, I rebooted my computer and the cd started up,

this is the error I got, cannot boot from cd error code 4

What is error code 4?

Any help on this would be nice.

I have built bootable cd before , but have never seen that error before.

not always.

Also, as a word of advice, don't use WinISO.

If this were in the MultiBoot section, I'd say you hexed it wrong. Only thing I can think of is maybe you use the Reduce Source. You could try download the "CDIMAGE for Windows Professional" from the website. Run the file batch and see if it works.

I just got that error slipstream windows 2000. In nero 5.5 I forgot to choose "No emulation" and the default of floppy disk emmulation was chosen. After I reburned my philips cdrw (philips is the only cdrw brand that many sony cdr drives read) everything worked great.

cd error 4 has nothing to do with windows it's a problem booting from cd. Bad ram would cause error 7 i believe in setupdd.sys

-gosh
