Just a general question... What sort of bandworth does msfn.org go through per month?

i wouldnt know but i know everytime i visit the forum alone, generally 150 users every 15 minutes, so i can amagine what bandwidth there would be used on the forum alone.. be nice to see a figure of course

Thats just the forums, theres often many times that figure reading the news pages.

My estimate would be a few gigs a day, but that's just a guess!

Well, let's see...

If each page is approximately 100 kilobytes, and a person, on average, visits about 15 pages, that's 1500 kilobytes. Then if there's about 150 visitors an hour, multiply the 1500 kilobytes by 150. That gives you 225000 kilobytes. Now how many hours are in there in a day? 24? Thanks. Multiply that last number by 24 and you get 5400000 kilobytes. So that's approximately 5.14 gigabytes/day!

Math will serve you well in the future!

its amazing how much a day it is.. some sites wouldnt even get that a month.. hate to see the cost of that type of bandwidth use on a hosting plan
