Hope I don't get biatch slapped for this.

Anyway, my friend is asking in what way can he blow his mobo. Wants to get a new mobo. :)

lol, ive killes a few mobos "accidentaly" before :)

As for ways to do it? The simplest is to break a few surface resistors off, or remove the bios chip.

Remove some capacitors, it will still work, but it will be highly unstable.

I suggest trying to short out components using a screwdriver. That way there's no physical evidence of tampering. Or, if he wants a whole new setup, try connecting stripped wires from the power supply directly to the processor and other places on the board and see what happens. :)

hold the motherboard with one hand,

grab a wire on to the other hand

then firmly place the wire to the power outlet

and let it stay there for a while,

feel that nice shake

the mb will be nice and fried

I like datalore's idea of no evidence of tampering. but need a more assurance that it'll breakdown on the first try coz I don't want to end up killing the PSU and the fusebox, then find out that the mobo still works.. lol :)

Take a 9 Volt battery (those rectangular shaped batteries), connect some wires to it, stick in different places, like on the BIOS chip... Try short circuiting some components... :)

Or better yet, take out everything but your motherboard and PSU, take a small cup with a bit of water, turn on your computer, drop some water on the mobo, and bingo... Fried mobo for lunch!
