NotHereToPlayGames Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 If you're open for alternatives, I used doPDF on XP. Most likely *not* the 'newest' version, I'd have to pull up my XP archives to track down version. I would still have the installer if it's not available online anymore.
Guest dremendous Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 some old versions of nitroPDF work correctly on XP.
Zorba the Geek Posted February 4 Posted February 4 If you examine twsfprintpdf.inf you will see the manufacturer's name is given as Intelligent Software Systems Inc and the device ID is "TW SF Print PDF Driver" = PDF, LPTENUM\TWSFPrinter_14062010_300 LPTENUM seems to be an acronym for LPT enumerator. The LPT enumerator is used to obtain identification information from LPT port hardware and calls the printer class installer using this INF file. You can read more about it in this Microsoft article Printer connected to an LPT port. As far as I can tell this is a plug and play hardware driver and not a PDF printer driver, but I cannot understand why they use the word "PDF" in the description. I have never seen a Microsoft PDF printer driver available as a downloadable installer, and only Windows 10/11 have printing to PDF included as a feature.

I second this. it's a really good software for XP. I have a special version without the ads.

I wouldn't have even suggested to give it a try if I knew people were going to get hit with an ad-based version. It was something I only used in my XP Days and never really needed it in 10. tekkaman Posted February 17 Posted February 17 The software was XP compatible for years. Newer versions have ads. But I don't remember which version started to have ads or if the ads were tolerable. But someone flat out removed the ads and that's the version I used haha
j7n Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I used to have an XP computer that needed to prepare bills. We used PDF-Xchange Pro, an old version. It worked well, was smaller than Adobe software, but it was not free.
