play_arrow HTML code/text: Get the material icon instead of its HTML code

Problem: it's HTML code which is visible instead of material icons...

Answer at how-to: by NOT blocking the fonts.

Three examples:

play_arrow constant: https://api.flutter.dev/flutter/material/Icons/play_arrow-constant.html

Material icon named "play arrow" at the left, instead of play_arrow label only, get by NOT blocking fonts.googleapis.com and fonts in your uBlock (unnotch "block remote fonts" button) etc extension...

Click on SHOW COMMENTS section yellow link of an article on zerohedge.com: https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/its-defund-global-police-moment-jen-says-de-dollarization-happening-stunning-pace

Material icons (two: collapse or add comment content, and link) named play arrow, instead of two play_arrow labels on each comment, get by not blocking too fonts.gstatic.com and fonts in your uBlock etc extension...

Great Nicobar tag on roundglasssustain.com: https://roundglasssustain.com/tags/tag-great-nicobar

Material icons named "play arrow" on the videos, instead of play_arrow labels only, get by NOT blocking fonts in your uBlock etc extension...

So it's up to you, if you prefer to block the fonts, but I block them consciously now...remembering the consequences....:)

Another testing, on w3schools.comhttps://www.w3schools.com/icons/tryit.asp?filename=tryicons_google-play_arrow

All material icons are here, if you allow fonts...

You get play icon here, by allowing the fonts: https://materialui.co/icon/play-arrow

From the web:

"Material Design Play Arrow icon code is "play_arrow". You can use this play arrow icon as Material UI, Vuetify, and Angular Material (Mat Icon)."

  • msfntor changed the title to play_arrow text: Getting the material icon instead of the play_arrow label

Icons: We have included 932 Material Design Icons courtesy of Google. - on materializecss.com: https://materializecss.com/icons.html

DEMO: Material icons are distributed by Google under the Apache License 2.0. Shown here is the subset that I use most often.https://btn.ninja/page.icons.php

To be able to see all these material icons instead of tag/text/label html code - unblock the fonts...

Success! I won the first place with this topic in the results of the main search engines: Bing, Google, Swisscows, Startpage... and 2nd place in onesearch, DuckDuckGo lite, Qwant lite, metasearchx, metaGer, Presearch, FrogFind, Brave!:worship:

Um, why even monitor search engine listing order?

Certainly not my definition of success.

Why?  Because this thread (until I chimed in) was really only you talking to yourself and some of us (myself included) reading it but not commenting (this isn't new news, those of us that block fonts "know" this already).

Success would be if 5, 10, 20 "new" members signed up and posted in this thread.

All you really did is "time" your entry with some web crawlers that scour the 'net every few hours and found the precise and exact search query to isolate this thread.

That's not really that difficult.  Hint - multiple words in your search query always always always bring the right content to the top of the list.

Just my two cents, lol.

Sure, I have been aware of this for years, this is the most important step to take when creating a topic.

"Not my problem", lol.  Like I have to tell my brother each and every time he sends me a Twitter, Facebook, or Tik-Tok link - they are blocked on my system "without prejudice".

But blocking "Google Trends" is like blocking MSN's "news feed", IMO.

Point is, don't all search engines have a "trends" page?
