(minimum OS that started showing emojis at least is Windows 8.0, but in black-and-white, so Windows 8.1 is the first OS to display colored emojis.)

But what I meant to say is that @msfntor is running XP, so, squares are expected to display for him instead of emojis when he uses Chrome forks (or Chrome itself) to browse instead of Firefox forks (or Firefox itself).
