codeblue Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 I need to install pop up Blockers on 15 networked machines at work. The product needs to be free, without any licence issues for company use.Can anyone recommend a good one?
trev Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 Not sure, but you can look in http://www.download.com though and look through sections that are related to pop up blockers. I find one site which you might find useful http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=...cker&tg=dl-2001
codeblue Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 Thanks for the links Trev. got a couple of ideas now.
trev Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 Your welcome! Which one did you decided to download? You can also go to google and find them too, but the problem is that there are too many links to visit.
codeblue Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 D-loaded 2:SafeGuard Pop-up Blocker Pro Free Edition 7.71c.exePop-up Manager 1014Unfortuantly neither are free for commercial use, but i have sent e-mails to both, stating that my company is an Training organisation and not a big commercial organization. Hopefuly one of the above will by realy FREE!?
HyDeNCiTy Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 personally I use PopUp XP, it's pretty good... and can be cracked... Oops did I say that??
trev Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 I tried a few pop up blockers and they arn't blocking pop ups, why is that?
X-Ecutioner Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 MOZILLA!!!!Tabbed browsing and Popup protection. Plus it's free.
HyDeNCiTy Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 It's always good to clear whatever spyware you have before you install blockers... so you might wanto to run Spybot on that machine(s).
The Dealman Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Msn toolbar works pretty good. It's almost like the pop-up blocker in xp sp2
medhunter Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 kerio firewall is very strict with ads , pop-ups have just begun using it ; can't give it up it is realy fantastic. think it is the best;at least I don't need a special popup plockerhope this helps.
Datalore Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 I'd have to second Google toolbar. Although if I want a standalone one, I use Hitware Popup Killer lite.
trev Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Some pop up programs don't block pop ups. Why is that? I am going to try the goolge or msn one now.
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 NoPops is also a good one.google for it to find it.
