Bakuchris Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Hello, my name is Chris, and I was hoping of finding a way of installing Windows 2000 on my custom built computer, but since my motherboard is pretty new I think most of my drivers will fail to install, as most of them require Microsoft Windows XP and higher. Here are my specs listed bellow:Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H (Revision 1.0)RAM: 11GBs of DDR3 RAMHard Drives: 60GB SSD Drive, 2 x 1TB Hard Disk DrivesProcessor: AMD Athlon II X3 435 Processor with 3 CoresOnboard Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4200Network: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controllerany help shall be much appreciated.
os2fan2 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 You won't see more than 4 GB of ram, but i believe there is a ramdrive that you can load into xms memory (ie > 4GB).You need to hack the install diskette to include the 48bit LBA addressing into it, but otherwise it would be fine. Check out this thread http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/75713-48-bit-lba-on-win2k-setup/ especially, my batch file for doing this.
