outfoxtv
(1) OutfoxTV, you could literally be anybody going around posting stuff. I don't believe you. For all I know, you could be the spammer that's going around posting cookie-cutter comments describing Outfox as malware and also giving out a fake "solution." Anyway, the burden of proof is on you and your alleged software company to release a safe product... that is, if you want to stay in business, not on unsuspecting users. (2) You're advising him to re-install the software which he just spent time trying to remove? That makes no sense. Would you take that chance?Ever heard the saying, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I think the trust is gone at this point.Running the uninstaller then offers you the checkbox "Remove www.outfox.tv as browser tab/homepage" which should be selected. Upon completion of the uninstaller, reboot the PC.Oh, so people still have to check a box to actually "completely" remove it? Can't you just make it simple for people, and when you uninstall your software, you actually uninstall it? Throwing in little questions like "remove browser homepage" confuses people who aren't computer savy. They play it safe and probably leave it unchecked, since they're too scared to fiddle with it. They have faith in your uninstall program to actually live up to it's name of "uninstall." But yet, they have to check a box. Here's an idea. Get rid of the little check box nonsense, and actually competely remove your program from peoples computers. You'd probably save money on customer support that way. If that's what you really wanted though... maybe you're enjoying the negative publicity.... all publicity is good publicity they say. Evven I, who knew nothing of Outbox tV yesterday, am today a bonafide expert. You succeeded!HiAppreciate the feedback. Sorry this reply became longer than intended! We understand not everyone wants to keep our product and we don't expect everyone to love the product, or us. We just don't want people to be ripped off by fake IT services if all they want to do is uninstall the Outfox.tv application. We included Settings to allow people to customize how the app works for them, and a full uninstaller. It works, and it's free. We're in the process of creating a standalone uninstaller to help anyone who finds the inbuilt uninstaller doesn't work for them (this happens very infrequently, but obviously when someone is stuck with a program they've decided they don't want, they get increasingly annoyed if it can't be removed - so we want to be able to offer a quick option rather than the user needing to follow more complicated steps - a standalone uninstaller provides this).Asking people to access the latest uninstaller by installing the latest version of outfox.tv is the only way we can distribute the new uninstaller currently, but we'll soon be able to provide it as a standalone program (which will be able to be scanned by all the major antivirus and malware services, just like the current program). We don't agree all publicity is good, and we obviously don't want negative publicity, and we particularly don't want blatant lies spread with the purpose of scaring people into paying for services they don't need. The issue we have is the blatant lies in numerous blog posts which are damaging because they inaccurately claim our product is malware or contains a virus, and also because they feed false instructions to innocent people who follow them, because they're duped into thinking they have found help. When the user follows these instructions the uninstaller can't work, leaving the option to pay the spammer to provide help or sell them a sub standard antivirus product no one has ever heard of (until you google them and find the complaints, as karma is catching up with them). All we can guarantee you is everything posted above is factual. If the uninstaller doesn't work for any reason, our support team will provide help at no charge. We will provide help to people whether they love us or hate us, and we won't charge for it, and we will ensure the program is uninstalled if that is what the user wants. People stuck with software they don't want isn't helping anyone, we just want people to know the product is uninstallable, we'll help if they encounter issues, and it's NOT a freaking virus! If anyone wants help, they can email support@outfox.tv and someone will assist. Unlike the virus and malware spammers, we're not hiding behind anonymity and free blogspot accounts :OUTFOX TV - APPLICATIONS AND WEB SERVICES Software Applications / Distribution Services / Tech SupportOutfox TV Productions Ltd50 Raffles Place #15-05/06Singapore Land TowerSingapore 048623e: support@outfox.tv----OUTFOX TV - CREATIVE TV Studio / Design TeamOutfox TV Productions129 Robertson Street Fortitude Valley 4006 Australia----
jaclaz
@outfoxtvThe fact that you do seem like nice guys and willing to help people that may have issues removing your stupid BHO (or whatever is it that changes the start page of browsers to your site) does NOT in any way change the fact that the BHO (or whatever) is installed the first time. This practice is seen by anyone possessing more than two working neurons as an an aggressive, senseless, vexing and overall stupid attempt to take control of someone else's user experience, particularly when the result (changing the start page to a given site) happens through the use of something that is (badly or cleverly) hidden and that insists of resetting the start page (which is a BAD behaviour typical of "malware", which not necessarily is a virus)If you want to do a favour to me, to the other members of this board and to a large part of mankind, you could stop the practice, as opposed to be kind and help to amend the damages that that practice causes after they have been caused, otherwise your thingy will be called "malware" because, whatever it does for the good, it also does at least one thing (the browser hijacking) that is what "malwares" do, and the equation outfox.tv=malware will be written all over the internet, besides all the places where it is already written.jaclaz
