ok type services.msc

then find the rpc services (remote procedure call (rpc)) one

right click on it

go to properties

go to recovery

change all those 3 settings to do nothing.

further more go to symantec.com and download the individual removal tools. u can do it directly from windows but i suggest when u have lots of viruses (if u have any) either boot from safe mode / PE. u'll get the best results like that.

These problems are more than not caused by malware on your system I know of one other person who had a similiar problem and got so frustrated trying to find out what it was that she just formatted and started over. And in your case this sounds like a good option to me. I personally like to do that about once a month.

liquid.. thats just overboard man, totaly pointless.

Bomba, next time that box pops up telling you about iminent shutdown, go to

START > RUN

Type in:

shutdown.exe /a

Press enter. Now.. go download the patch from MS to stop the shutdowns happening, and then you can sort out norton.
