unplug your ethernet cabel.

try some removal tools. If there's not enough time...put your HDD into a clean, antivirus-protected environment as a secondary drive and clean it up.

ok type services.msc

then find the rpc services (remote procedure call (rpc)) one

right click on it

go to properties

go to recovery

change all those 3 settings to do nothing.

further more go to symantec.com and download the individual removal tools. u can do it directly from windows but i suggest when u have lots of viruses (if u have any) either boot from safe mode / PE. u'll get the best results like that.

These problems are more than not caused by malware on your system I know of one other person who had a similiar problem and got so frustrated trying to find out what it was that she just formatted and started over. And in your case this sounds like a good option to me. I personally like to do that about once a month.

Bomba, next time that box pops up telling you about iminent shutdown, go to

START > RUN

Type in:

shutdown.exe /a

Press enter. Now.. go download the patch from MS to stop the shutdowns happening, and then you can sort out norton.

if u want to do that at least save it into a batch file put in on the desktop

u might now be able to click type etc.. (that's what i'd do.. anyways.........)
