Monroe
Saw this USB flash drive two weeks ago at Walmart ... it was the smallest size flash drive I have ever seen, don't see how there could be anything smaller but maybe someone here has seen one? Kind of easy to misplace or drop ... never to be seen again.SanDisk Cruzer Fithttps://www.google.com/search?q=SanDisk+Cruzer+Fit&num=100&safe=off&sa=G&complete=0&hl=en&gbv=2&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=ySAlUpDHBu-5sQT3-YDwBg&ved=0CD8QsAQ&biw=1020&bih=630... JorgeA
I have one or two of these tiny ones that you showed. I sure haven't seen anything smaller.Don't know if you'd count these, but MicroSD camera cards are even tinier than that -- and even easier to lose forever! --JorgeA
Monroe
JorgeA ... thanks for the information. Wallmart had the SanDisk Cruzer Blade 8 GB USB drive on sale for $4.97 ... going back to school/college sale so I grabbed a couple of those.http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Blade-Flash-SDCZ50-008G-AFFP/dp/B007KFAG7UI thought they were pretty small USB drives but the Walmart salesperson pointed out the SanDisk Cruzer Fit 16 and 32 GB product. I was amazed at how small they were. When I said earlier about a possible smaller USB flash drive ... I'm thinking the part that goes into the USB slot on the computer would always have to be that size ... unless that would change in the future with USB 4 or USB 5 ... but for now I guess that's probably the smallest USB drive available. I keep saying that I have enough flash drives and will not buy anymore but I may have to get one of those to add to the collection.http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Flash-Drive-SDCZ33-016G-B35/dp/B005FYNSZA... jaclaz
@duffy98Define "smallest".That one is short, but "chunky", this other rather common design is probably a bit "longer" but much "flatter":http://oliviatech.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/verbatim-400x300.jpgstill http://www.andrewbirkel.com/6-8-13disassemble-a-mini-flash-drive-sandisk-cruzer-fit/@JorgeAJFYI:http://www.itechnews.net/2008/11/27/buffalo-rmum-series-smallest-micro-usb-drive/If you are interested, some completely faked data assembled in a few simple graphs:http://reboot.pro/topic/18748-unreliable-and-almost-useless/#entry175178http://reboot.pro/topic/18056-the-universal-pe/?p=166593jaclaz
Tripredacus
The Logitech Bluetooth Nano Receiver is just about that size too.
jaclaz
The Logitech Bluetooth Nano Receiver is just about that size too.Really? Also a USB A male connector is roughly that size, only both are not flash drives jaclaz.
Tripredacus
I would prefer larger devices anyways. Making them so small is prone to being lost or passed through the washing machine.
Monroe
OK jaclaz, that Verbatim flash looks pretty neat with it's slim look. That's also pretty interesting looking inside the SanDisk Cruzer Fit ... I have to agree with Tripredacus about liking a larger flash drive ... maybe if a person is a spy or "corporate spy" those little flash drives might come in handy.I still might get one just to add to the collection and also a "conversation" piece.... Monroe
"The Finder" does it again ! ... the USB Sushi drives are hilarious ... I had no idea they were making flash drives like that. I can maybe see a drive in the "Swiss Army Knife" until the knife gets wet or muddy. I'll just stick with the conventional flash drives ... I did buy one that dencorso mentioned about 1 1/2 years ago ... Joseph_sw
I personally dislike the slim usb connector, as they usualy doesn't work well with USB cord extension (Standard-A receptacle) due physical problem. The Standard Type-A USB connector/plug is good, why they feel the need to mangle it? ROTS
I have seen those. Mostly 4GB which is laughable. I would wait awhile before purchasing any. Eventually they will get to 2TB, so unless yoiu really need it, then go for it. I remember back in college when we still had people comming with external hard-drives. The proffessor was like "oh wow, the old fashioned USB". Another thing to think about is the life-span and material used to make these. Flash ( like Camera ) can even survive being washed in a machine, but I USB is another story. It might hold alot but for how long??? Looking at some of the flash they have all kinds of parts inside them asides the flash itself.

Looking at some of the flash they have all kinds of parts inside them asides the flash itself. It must have been a loong time ago that you were in college, like yesteryear.Sure a flash drive has several other parts besides the memory, but you can use a micro SD card reader (like some of the mentioned USB sticks actually are), this way the recordable media is "the same" (and detachable) as the one in your handy or camera.Laughing at 4 Gb is actually making me laugh, when they came out for the first time (like a year or so) a common USB stick was 64 to 128 Mb and a 512 Mb was "luxury".jaclaz
jaclaz
To continue on the "tiny, but not too tiny" designs, this one seems to me not that bad:http://www.emtec-international.com/en-eu/S200_usb_flashhttp://www.emtec-international.com/en-eu/S200_usb_flash?quicktabs_1=1#quicktabs-1It seemingly does not protrude too much from the socket (hence it is difficult that it can be broken by accident) but still seems to provide some "grip" to extract it.jaclaz
