cyberyeye Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) Your v2 "fix" is perfect: SourcesS seems okIf i got enough time, I'll made a quick install in a VM to test tomorrow. Thanks !Edit: test done installation went fine Edited June 17, 2013 by cyberyeye
tomasz86 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) By the way, I've been always wondering what's the reason for this:IF "%HostOS%"=="XP" IF EXIST HF\WindowsXP-KB942288-*-x86.exe CALL :MSI45 XP sp3qfeIF "%HostOS%"=="2003" IF EXIST HF\WindowsServer2003-KB942288-*-x86.exe CALL :MSI45 Server2003 sp2qfeI can't really see any reason why you shouldn't be able to integrate MSI 4.5 into XP source when running HFSLIP under Windows 2000 or 2003 (and otherwise). This is still experimental but I'd suggest trying to change the two lines to:IF "%VERSION%"=="XP" IF EXIST HF\WindowsXP-KB942288-*-x86.exe CALL :MSI45 XP sp3qfeIF "%VERSION%"=="2003" IF EXIST HF\WindowsServer2003-KB942288-*-x86.exe CALL :MSI45 Server2003 sp2qfeEdit: Fixed the modified code. Edited June 18, 2013 by tomasz86
jakson Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 This is still experimental but I'd suggest trying to change the two lines to:IF EXIST HF\WindowsXP-KB942288-*-x86.exe CALL :MSI45 XP sp3qfeIF EXIST HF\WindowsServer2003-KB942288-*-x86.exe CALL :MSI45 Server2003 sp2qfeSo I can't integrate KB942288 (Windows Installer 4.5) on Windows 7 (and any non-XP host), because of code IF "%HostOS%"=="XP"?I thought it's a non-XP host "feature"...
tomasz86 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 That's right Feel free to change the lines according to #17. After that you shall be able to integrate it, no matter what the host OS is.
tomasz86 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 By the way, the whole processing of MSI 4.5 is kind of not right in my opinion. The MUI files, which are normally copied to several different directories in "%windir%\system32\mui", are removed by HFSLIP and only one of them is left depending on the language of the Windows source. It's then renamed and later installed as "msimsg.mui".Normally the all 38 MUI files of MSI 4.5 should be installed. I'm not sure but I think that it may have impact on the English Windows when you actually install and use different system MUIs. MSI 4.5 should probably change its language according to the system MUI but it won't do it if those MUI files are not present.Anyway, I'll try to provide a solution to this issue shortly.

Acheron Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Good find Tomasz! So far I used RVM Integrator to integrate some addons into my source as I expected HFSLIP to be buggy. How good is the Addon integration code anyway?
tomasz86 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 HFSLIP support for addons is extremely limited. Only true addons are supported. However, integrating large and complicated update packs (like Onepiece Win2k postSP4 UpdatePack and others) results in a corrupted Windows installation even though the update packs are technically also true addons. For Windows XP I integrate the following onesKels_Runtimes_addon_v8.5.7zOnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v1.1.4322.2502_True_AddOn_ENU_CECE82149DF5A0F4250D766448995ADF.cabOnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v3.5.30729.4051_True_AddOn_ENU_71968F1BC3AC2E433F3E9AA143B3E728.cabOnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v4.0.30319.1008_True_AddOn_ENU_B59D6FA8C909DAD14965B880F957FB29.cabRicks-YumeYao_MicrosoftVC7891012RuntimeLibraries_Addon_2_2_1.7zYumeYao_MicrosoftOldRuntimeLibraries_Addon_1_0_0.7zand they are integrated correctly. In case of the .NET Framework addons I had to rename them since "extract.exe" was unable to process the files with long names but now, with 7-Zip, it's no more necessary. If I've got some time I'll try to have a closer look at the addon integration process in HFSLIP. At the moment I think that the most important thing is to fix the "extract.exe" problem
Parseus Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) HFSLIP beta K (v2) closes for me with an "( was unexpected at this time" error while trying to integrate any update from HF1.txt (f.e. I don't have any problems with beta J v11.Here is my output log from the console:Commandline: hfslip-1.7.10_beta_K_v2.cmd========TommyP's 2K3/XP/W2K/IE HOTFIX SLIPSTREAMER LICENSING AGREEMENT=========You are free (1) to Share - to copy, distribute and transmit HFSLIP (the work) (2) to Remix - to adapt the workUnder the following conditions:(1) Attribution. Acheron Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Parseus, I haven't tested HFSLIP on Windows 7 yet. You can try to add some pause statements to find the code segment where the error is located.
