It depends on the controller. If you can't find a driver in the card manufacturer's site, try the site of the controller chip manufacturer; Silicon Image, VIA, etc.

I have a generic SATA Driver Patch if you cannot find a specific driver for your system.

AHCI is not compatable with Windows 9x. Having an ACHI only Hard Disk Controller active will make Windows 9x unbootable.
