Mim0 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 There were around 100 hotfixes added after May 17 Yes... you both are very active! But in general it's the same duration for updating the list (and run the file-checker with this) in comparison to check every file manually.Probably I can help... But I have no knowledge about the W2K-updates
bristols Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 (edited) Now, I already own many of the listed hotfixes but how can I say which one has been replaced since then? And which one has been added?I mean, is there a fast/easy way to detect just the new/replaced hotfixes instead of checking them all one by one? Here you go:Changelog for Windows 2000 Updates pageGoes back as far as February.Hope it helps. brutus1234 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Here you go:Changelog for Windows 2000 Updates pageA full changelog! This is what I was after, great!Thank you bristols!
tomasz86 Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 brutus1234,I'm getting finished with the basic version of Update Rollup 2 for Win2k... would you perhaps be interested in making the Italian version too? The only thing you would have to do its to supply me (upload somewhere) an archive with Italian language updates (official updates only). It's just too time consuming for me to download them one by one. If you do it for me, then it's very easy to make an Italian version of the Rollup. Please answer if you're interested. I'll give you a list of updates that are needed (around 90 files).

I'll give you a list of updates that are needed (around 90 files).Of course I can provide a comprehensive hotfix package and host it on an external site (it will require some time, though).Just let me read that list! (I just had a look at them... my actual hotfix list counts more than 200 files, more than twice your 90 ones... maybe I'm making some mistake... )Now, what do you exactly mean with a "update rollup"? If I remember well it is a single exe/msi file, ready to be installed/slipstreamed in just a single step, isn't it?
tomasz86 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) I don't think there are any mistakes on your side The point about Update Rollup 2 is that it is going to include only official and public updates. It means that HBRs (hotfixes by request, yellow background at bristols' page) are not going to be included. Update Rollup 2 is going to cover mostly updates from Windows Updates list (almost all of them) and a few other updates. You use HBRs and that's why you have more than 200 updates on your list as there are more than 120 HBRs available. You can find more detailed info about UR2 here. And yes, update rollup is like a BIG hotfix. Its structure is exactly the same as a single update, just more files and registry entries are installed, and of course it can be integrated using HFSLIP or nLite. IE / OE Mini Rollup is such a thing - 7 (9 in ver. 1.1) updates are merged into one, and the official Update Rollup 1 is also a perfect example. Here is the list of updates which I want to include in UR2. Of course it's for the English version.Webfldrs-KB892211-ENU.exe *Windows2000-KB838989-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB839228-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB891861-v2-x86-ENU.EXE *Windows2000-KB893756-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB894395-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB896358-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB896423-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB899587-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB899589-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB899591-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB900725-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB901017-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB901214-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB905414-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB905749-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB908506-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB913580-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB914388-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB917008-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB917344-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB917537-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB918118-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB920213-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB920670-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB920683-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB923191-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB923561-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB923810-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB923980-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB924270-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB924432-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB924667-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB925902-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB926121-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB926247-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB926436-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB927891-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB928843-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB935839-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB938827-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB942831-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB943055-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB943485-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB950749-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB950974-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB951748-V2-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB952004-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB952954-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB953155-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB955069-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB955417-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB955759-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB956802-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB956844-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB958470-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB958644-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB959426-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB960225-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB960803-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB960859-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB961501-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB967715-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB969059-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB970238-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB970483-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB971032-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB971468-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB972270-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB973037-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB973507-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB973869-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB973904-v2-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB974318-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB974392-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB974571-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB975254-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB975560-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB975713-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB977290-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB977914-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB978037-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB978601-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB978706-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB979309-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB979482-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB979559-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB980195-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB980218-x86-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB980232-x86-ENU.EXEWindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe ** you don't have to upload these threeIt would be good if you could zip them and upload somewhere, ex. tomasz86 Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) The entry SCRIPTEN.CAB (IE6sp1 component, the ita cab is named SCRIPTIT.CAB) is stated as `Script 5.6'. The issue is I am slipstreaming just Script 5.7 components/updates and there are several warnings about mixing different versions. So, if I just want Script 5.7, can I skip SCRIPTEN(SCRIPTIT).CAB?I know it's an old post but yes, you can skip scriptXX.cab from IE6 if you slipstream Script 5.7. You can also skip OE6 .cabs if you don't want it (MAILNEWS.CAB, OEEXCEP.CAB, WAB.CAB). All these three components (IE6, OE6, Script 5.6) are slipstreamed separately. Edited July 3, 2011 by tomasz86
brutus1234 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I know it's an old post ...It's much appreciated anyway, thank you!

Molecule Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) MS09-044 adds a *** note re KB958471 and KB958470958470 (for RDP 5.0, 5.1, and 5.2) is the 1.5 meg patch that Inki reduced to a reg file setting 3 ActiveX killbits in the registry. The note says that "Users of RDP Version 5.0 on Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 must install both KB958471 and KB958470." KB958471 is not on the list. How does a user tell which version of RDP he has ... if he has 5.0, should 958471 be on the list? or maybe just add a few words to the note for 958470? kb985470 applies to RDP 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 Edited July 20, 2011 by Molecule

If tomasz86 has the time, maybe create a unofficial fix with both files including the reg file as an updated version of rdp.
tomasz86 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 (edited) KB958471 updates only the files related to MSTSC. It doesn't add anything to the registry.I'm actually thinking about adding the whole new RDP (KB958471 & KB958470) to UR2, not just the registry fixes. What do you think about it?To check version of RDP you may try checking the file "mstsc.exe". Edited July 23, 2011 by tomasz86
PROBLEMCHYLD Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I think that would be great. I'm sure more than a few uses RDP. Thanks

Then maybe someone can re-create the installer to work on 98SE. Thank you very much.P.SDo you think its possible to repackage files likeWINDOWS2000-KB816868-X86-ENU.EXEWINDOWS2000-KB896414-X86-ENU.EXEWINDOWS2000-KB942831-X86-ENU.EXEso that they are use in the HF folder instead of the HFSVCPACK_SW1?
