WPI v8 Bug thread

Featured Replies

I just tried doing another unattended install using nLite except this time I didnt include any hotfixes and still came across the same thing. So I don't think it has to do with the hotfixes.

OK just spent the last couple of hours testing...

What I came up with? NOTHING! :(

I tried a VM of XP SP3 vanilla... All was ok.

Tried a real XP, still ok...

I am outta ideas...

I suspect your source is not a clean source. Was it modified (IN ANY WAY?) Before you got ahold of it?

Also I see in your screenshots that themes are not running\enabled. When are you running WPI? From the desktop right?

Can you provide an explorer screenshot of your disks root?

This is details about the error that comes up after I choose to begin installing from WPI. The window comes up like its about to start, but then an error.

dghn.bmp

When you hit Install button, does the window close/resize? Or not change at all? What theme are you using?

When I hit install the WPI window closes then a new window for the installer comes up then I receive the error. I'm using the windows xp classic theme.

Updated.

mritter found a bug in the installer path...

Grrr..how bad is this bug.

It works all fine with 8.0.2

But now with 8.0.3 the sound no longer works.

If I do the installer from the hard drive, then it works.

But not from Dvd after you install Windows.

I have tried several different ways.

Can I try the Bugfix installer from 8.0.3 in 8.0.2.

Which one installer do I need to change it.

Thx

The path I updated has nothing to do with the audio. Does the player appear? Does the "progress bar" move like it is playing? Are you sure your audio drivers are installed?

No one else has mentioned the audio not working, so I would think it is isolated to something you have changed.

Hello kel and mritter,

Im using the 8.0.3 version.

I still got issues with wpi on usb not beeing able to save settings and my settings to the left on this image is gone.

Notice this is on a freshly formatted usb pen, fat32/ntfs does not matter, i have tryed everything :).

Do this:

Hit alt+o keys, goto the general tab and deselect the LAST option in the dropdown section...

If you mean eject cd when wpi is finished.

That does not work.
