E-66
I have a Diamond MX80 sound card that I used without issue on a Win9x system, but there are apparently no XP drivers for it. I don't even use it for sound, but it has a midi/game port that I use for a midi guitar device. It shows up in XP's device manager as a multimedia controller with the yellow exclamation point next to it. Windows update can't find a driver for it and I can't find anything from Google searches. Is there any way to get it "installed" so I can use the midi port? Sysdll
Try searching for Aureal Vortex 1 (AU8820) chipset or Aureal Vortex 2(AU8830) chipset Windows XP drivers. These drivers might work with your card.I wish you luck in your search. I had to toss two excellent (and expensive) Digital Audio Labs Professional sound cards because the company did not develop Windows XP drivers. E-66
Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately those drivers didn't work. I'll give it some more thought before giving up.

Sp0iLedBrAt
Diamand Technology DT0398, Diamond Computer SystemsAs a last resort, have you considered trying an application that finds drivers from a driver database, like DriverMax or similar? It has helped me out on a number of occasions. Edited February 23, 2010 by Sp0iLedBrAt
Tripredacus
I checked your hardware ID, and it is not in XP's Driverpacks. I don't like how it has a DEV of 9999, seems bad. Also a SUBSYS of all 0 is suspect as well.I moved your other topic. Use this topic for the driver issue, use the other topic for XP in a VM discussion. E-66
Thanks. I've given up on the whole thing. I think it's going to be easier simply tracking down an older Soundblaster card.
