m16si Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Hello i have alot of duplicate mp3s in my library and i want to know which is the best program for removing duplicates from my computer?Thnx Bye
MHz Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Duplicate Cleaner has many features including hardlink support which I find useful.
Jeremy Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 The best program I found for this is Similarity. It will analyze the data in all the audio streams in one or more folders you specify and detect exact duplicates or tracks that sound similar.I used it myself a few months ago and was very impressed. It is free.http://www.music-similarity.com/

Guest stefan2078 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Duplicate Deleter is a small free tool that you can download from the Internet (Duplicate Delete). This application uses file date and size filters when searches for duplicate and can search inside subfolders too.
klaoo Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I've tried out Similarity. It does a really great work in finding duplicate MP3s. Most of the software that do this search for similarities in file name or tag. This one also searches for the content. I've tried renaming the same song (one was 4 seconds longer) so they would not be similar other than just the content, and the program found it. It's not 100% accurate, and it also gives some false positive results, but overall it's one of the best tools I've found for this. It's simple and on top of all, it's free.
jaclaz Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I've tried out Similarity. Yep , but the Home Page of the program is the one already given by Jeremy:http://www.music-similarity.com/jaclaz
