Renewed error 70 problems

Recommended Posts

Download a new copy. The new exe is in there.

I have the new copy with the exe. Still get the error when installing office 07.

Hi grabby. In order to fix the Office 2007 issue, you need to, before launching WPI, set these registry keys to "no"

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\DisableScriptDebuggerIE

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Disable Script Debugger

I hope this helps.

I used runonce with nlite to run a .reg file with these changes but I still obtained the history.js error.

The exe sets the reg keys for you, so don't do it twice. You did change your script from WPI.hta to WPI.exe, right?

I believe so. I invoke wpi with the nlite runonce: %SOURCE%\VALUEADD\WPI\WPI.exe

Is there anything else that I'm missing?

Getting the error 70 permission denied on history.js.

i'm using the wpi 7.7, and trying to install office 2007+sp2 on a winXP sp3 oem cd by dell, with slipstreamed updates using ryan's integrator and autoimage from RIS.

tried switching to the exe with no help, tried using the .reg fix with no success either... any more ideas? i'm getting quite desprate..

Well you are not the only one grabby. I too am having a difficult time with Office 2007. But not really with the office 2007 as with the update SP2 for it. After the SP2 for Office 2007 finishes it gives me the same error grabby reported.

Could not open History File

file c:\history.js

error number 70

Permission denied.

If i can add. It only gets fixed while using wpi.exe, but not in all PCs. Same windows XP sp3, different PC. Tested on core 2 duo (mine) worked, amd (brother) it did not work, laptop hp (work) worked, pentium 4 did not work.

When doing a complete install (format the Pc and install windows xp sp3 + office with sp2) it always gives this error. It does not matter which pc it is. Now, if i do and install again but skip office 2007 and sp2 and install everything else. Then i reboot and install office 2007 then it works correctly.

Well, this is definitely MS Office problem, BUT not only Office2k7sp2...

I was installing apps from WPI and there was also (in middle of installation process) MS Office 2k3 Sp3 (i just dont prefer 2k7.. jet)

and i also have same error message

Could not open History File

file c:\history.js

error number 70

Permission denied.

I thought there is a problem with my specifically addons ... ORCA, VBrun, Script56, WebPageErrorTolkit, suptools, adminpack etc

because this error starts always when some of this apps was installing...

When I reed this post I just realize I can put my MS Office 2k3 Sp3 as last app to install and when I've done this installation process went to the end with no error :D

You could try this, if you don't want to reboot and install Office on next windows boot, like banshee2k have done.

btw. I has IE6 and didn't install IE8.

first of all..many thanks for this program...i love it^^

But now!!!!

Yep.. same issue here..

WinXp Sp3 IE8 addon (OnePiece_IE8_WinXPSP3_v1.8.1-NOTWEAKS_TRUE_AddOn_NLD)

using RyanVM Integrator.

If i run wpi office small install.(word exel and powerpoint) it works fine.

But office compleet install fail when office is almost ready.

It looks that wpi restart him self??.

I try to see what happens,but i can't see the problem.

Both start this way:%wpipath%\\Install\\Office2007\\Setup.exe" /config PRO_SLIM.XML','"%wpipath%\\Install\\blabla

...............................%wpipath%\\Install\\Office2007\\Setup.exe" /config PRO_Compleet.XML','"%wpipath%\\Install\\blabla

BUT more......

If i let wpi run all programs (also office small).

Afther that i remove office.

Start wpi again for a office compleet install.

Then it works great!!! so very strange!?

I use wpi for 2 years..and never had this trouble.

It came up with 7.7.0.

Sorry for the bad news.

Greats

Edit..if click oke.. music restart to.

And Wpi run all the software to the end.

But wpi program is not more on the screen.

Office install is also oke.

Only the **** error is there!

Is everyone with this problem using nLite and/or RyanVM Integrator to launch WPI? Maybe that is messing with the reg keys??????

If you are, launch WPI the "traditional" way using CmdLines or other. See if it works then.

Testing soon..

For now...

If i do not change...it's run very nice. --->all oke

If i change office small to compleet.

Wpi start great,

1:Mozilla Firefox 3.6.0 NL -----> oke

2:Java Platform 6.17 ----->oke

3:Adobe Reader 9.3.0 NL Lite ------>oke

4:Office 2007 NL Compleet -->Start oke -->almost install ready (15Min later)..Error 70 came up.

..................(when i look in start menu..office install is ready)

Wpi start with this one:from WPIW Files Page

$OEM$ Folder <-- Link!

Contents of the $OEM$ archive:

cmdlines.txt

RunWPI.exe <-- (Set the runonceex and MCE theme settings for running WPI and Windows together)

hoop that this is clear for you..Sorry for bad english. ;)

Hi..

I just wanted to say.

As far as I am concerned That this issue has been resolved.

I had some problems with the sound.

And have therefore tried everything.

Also, I have a test done by WPI.hta to start.

I get error 70 again by office big install.

Could not open History File

file c:\history.js

error number 70

Permission denied.

But with the WPI.exe seems this problem resolved.

Thx for that en your hard work.

PS:The sound is working again, but where the problem was I don't know.
