June 28, 200917 yr when i made xp witn nlite sp3 after i installed the windows other computers in network when they access this xp it require user and password to accesswhy did i make anything wrong with nlite user accounts page ??and what should i do there with options to make it normal and no user or pass requires ??
June 28, 200917 yr This is not an nLite symptom. It's normal for the computer to require a user and password, but you can turn this setting off by opening Group Policy Editor.Open the Run box from the Start menu and type in gpedit.msc.I'll edit this post as soon as I find the exact setting.
June 28, 200917 yr See Rule 12 plz.Beat me to it.If you don't want XP asking you for a username/password, make sure the username/password on your computer matches the one on the computer you're trying to access.

June 29, 200917 yr I think you had "Simple file sharing" activated on previous installs, and not on this one. Keep it, it's more secure this way (redo your other computers).Simple file sharing is activated by default on normal XP installation.GL

Disable Simple Sharing for improved security. On all computers. On the next connect they will ask you for a password, you will enter it and they will remember it, so they won't ask you again.Or if you're not confortable with that, then OK, enable it on this computer and live like before. Just make sure that they all are the same.My opinion is that "the default" is not always the best choice. GL
July 3, 200917 yr Author yes but when i give anyone this windows and if he in network or want to use it on network it would be bothering thing when he want to access the windows shares and found out that this one only require user and pass i want to fix this from nlite can u tell me how to make it like default like all other windows ?
July 4, 200917 yr In nLite it's under:[Tweaks]Network-Disable Simple File Sharing(You want to have default behavior, so don't tick it).GL
