Outbreaker Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) Ok if i let nLite runing for over a hour then nLite is finishing with this scanning. strange strange Edited March 26, 2009 by Outbreaker
johnhc Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Outbreaker, really strange. Please post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer view of your CD folder. When you find a solution, please post it here, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
Outbreaker Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 I have already copyed the CD files to my Harddisk a long time ago.And like i always do i point to the Folder where the I386 folder is and nLite has always scan it in 1 minute but now it needs over a hour i have also run a Full Check Disk and no problems. And RVM Integrator works also without problems.I tested also nLite 1.4.9.1 Portable but same problem.
Outbreaker Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 If i delete this files "tcpip.sys" "usbport.sys" "sfc_os.dll" "uxtheme.dll" in the I386 folder then nLite doesn't take over a hour to scan.I my option this is a nLite bug.
mara- Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Well, I would suggest that you make a new copy from CD to your hard disk. I remember to had some problems with IE7 and although I never touched that copy something corrupted it.Cheers
Outbreaker Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 I have also done a new copy from CD to the hard disk but same problem.
johnhc Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Outbreaker, I suspect you have not found an nLite problem, but without more real information (not just complaints), we don't have a chance to discover what the problem might be. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Also post the screen shot I requested. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
Outbreaker Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 I use the original Windows XP Pro SP3 CD from Microsoft.And i have also installed nLite new without using a "Last Session.ini" or "nlite.ini" file and i use alwas a fresh copy.
johnhc Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Outbreaker, this does not look like a MS Windows CD. It contains DOTNETFX and VALUEADD. It looks more like a recovery CD. Please post your Last Session like I requested and post the label of the CD. If you open My Computer, load the CD, you should see the label on the optical drive. Also post the Pid found in setupp.ini, probably in your I386 folder. Enjoy, John.
Outbreaker Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) Yes it is a MS Windows CD i download it from MS TechNet:https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscri...ds/default.aspxI tested now to run nLite in VirtualBox and access the Windows XP CD Files over Windows File Sharing and like this it works.If i would now what system files nLite is using during scanning then i could test more but for now i'm out of ideas.CD LabelGRTMPVOL_ENSETUPP.INI[Pid]ExtraData=786F687170637175716954806365EFPid=76487270Last Session.ini[Main]Env = 1.4.9.1 - 2.0.50727.3082.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3Target = Windows XP Professional SP3 - 5.1.2600.5512 - English (United States)[Tasks]Remove ComponentsUnattended SetupCreate a Bootable ISOOptions[Components];# Applications #GamesInternet GamesPaintPinballWordPad;# Drivers #Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)Display AdaptersDisplay Adapters (old)Ethernet (LAN)IBM PS/2 TrackPointIBM ThinkPadISDNLogitech WingManMicrosoft SideWinderModemsMultifunctionalPortable AudioPrintersScannersSerial Pen TabletSony Jog DialSound ControllersToshiba DVD decoder cardWireless Ethernet (WLAN);# Multimedia #Images and BackgroundsMovie MakerMusic SamplesOld CDPlayer and Sound Recorder;# Network #Communication toolsFrontPage ExtensionsInternet Information Services (IIS)MSN ExplorerNetmeetingOutlook ExpressWindows Messenger;# Operating System Options #Blaster/Nachi removal toolDesktop Cleanup WizardOut of Box Experience (OOBE)Security CenterTourZip Folders;# Services #Fax Service;# Compatibility #[KeepFiles]inetcomm.dllinetres.dllmsconfig.exemsoert2.dllntprint.inf[RemoveFiles]clock.aviyahoo.bmpswtchbrd.bmp[Options]ClassicSetupProfilesDir = "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings"TargetPath = "WINDOWS"temp_dir = %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\TempAdvTweaksNoISOPreset[Patches]TcpIp = 16777214DoUxThemeDoSFC[Services2][Tweaks][Unattended]UnattendMode = 5ComputerType = AutomaticMaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk = 12RestorePointLife = 30DesktopTheme = Default||AutoUDay = 5AutoUHour = 15ProgFilesPath = "\Program Files"[NetAdapter1]connname = ""macaddress = ""ipaddress = "192.168.0.1"subnetmask = "255.255.255.0"defaultgateway = ""dnsserver1 = ""dnsserver2 = ""winsserver = ""netbiossetting = "0"ipxnetworknumber = "00000000"ipxnetworkframetype = "0xFF"[GuiRunOnce][Drivers][Hotfixes] Edited March 27, 2009 by Outbreaker
GrofLuigi Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 this does not look like a MS Windows CD. It contains DOTNETFX and VALUEADD. It looks more like a recovery CD. Why do you say this? I think it's the other way around, DOTNETFX and VALUEADD are present on MS CDs. Which editions, that's a different matter.GL
johnhc Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 GrofLuigi, I say that because my CDs don't have these folders, nor do most that have been posted here. More importantly, do you have some advice Outbreaker? I am running out of ideas. Thanks, John. Outbreaker, did you check the MD5 of nLite when you DLed it? How about the CD contents? Enjoy, John.
Outbreaker Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 Hop ther is a nLite developer here how can say what system files nLite is using if nLite scans the files.
johnhc Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Outbreaker, please check the MD5s I suggested and if they check out you can try PMing nuhi, the author/owner of nLite. Enjoy, John.
