beats
You have to create PM boot disks with Partion Magic first, then copy the files from the PM boot disks to your USB key.

Ponch
Use part.exe or part244.exe from this page. Tiny, powerfull, precise, quick. It cannot format NTFS but it's not a problem if you reapply Ghost images.+I don't think this thread has anything to do with Windows XP (?) koden
i have now used part244.exe... boot up on my USB keyI make boot and get this blue window..But maybe it's to advanced for me.I get this blue picture where I can se MBR as nr. 0 and then 1-7 unused space.2 is not unused. This is my USB boot key ???I had hoped to see my 10 GB harddsik somewhere....?AAAhhhh...press F5 to change and I can see my 10 GB disk where I have a 10 GB partition on nr. 2 of the 0-7.Why is the USB and the disk seen as nr. 2? What is no 1? Unused it says...but has this something to do with floppy drive is reserved as nr. 1?I delete the partion on 2. I press enter on 2 and make a fat32 8 GB partion. Works fine...I go to 3 and press enter...make a fat32 partion on 1,8 GB rest disk place...But it fails wih an error that says "boot sectors doesn't have valid information". Ponch
Only problem now is that ghost.exe no longer can see my USB 3,5" dsk where my ghost image is...Your floppy has probably shifted to "B:" so if you launch by command line it has to be corrected.Err...you have a Ghost image on a floppy ? For partitions, the first one can only begin at "head 1", hence the "unused space" after MBR.
koden
I use part244.exe and it's working...but no NTFS.I would prefer to use PM.I have installed PM 8 but can't see where i make the PM boot disks?Anyone who can guide me?
IcemanND
Ghost comes with its own partitioning utility.
koden
OKAY... thanks..So as there is a ghost.exe there must also be a "partition.exe" in my ghost 12 installation or is it not this you mean?
IcemanND
app is called GDISK, may not be in the home version, might only be in the enterprise versions of ghost.
Ponch
I use part244.exe and it's working...but no NTFS.Using the "Ins" key you get more choice for partition type and can choose NTFS. As stated before, you can create an NTFS partition but cannot format it (not supported by that old program).
