shilyro Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Do not remove the storage drivers, Surely one of them is for VM
leinan Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 I did not remove the driver for VM which is I think the LSI Logic. I wonder what could have cause this error. Any suggestions please? Thanks.
TranceEnergy Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Whenever i get an error like that in vmware, i have set the driver to scsi or something, not IDE, + i also typicall removed scsi drivers, lol.Having said that, When i activated AHCI support in bios and installed vista with it enabled, and then installed the ATI chipset drivers, including the disk drivers, it also accessed the Promise controller drivers, it said it was installing them. That didnt make sense to me at the time, havent bothered with ahci since, so didnt actually found out why it did. I just assumed it needed some information or what not, and since everything worked, i went on with life.
leinan Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 Hi got this sorted out, I haven't change anything in the settings of VM. I guess the problem is by using an ISO image file instead of installing vista from cd. I overlooked about this . Thanks anyway.
Legolash2o Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I alwys use custom settings and set the hard drive as IDE instead of SCSI (i think), then i can safely remove the LSI Logic drivers.
