Jeremy Posted January 17, 2008 Share Posted January 17, 2008 (edited) It's been a while since I did that.For free registry cleaning I use CCleaner.I am friends with the developer of JV16 PowerTools and I did some beta testing so I got a free license. Btw, JV16 does both reg cleaning and defragmenting. Zxian and myself can vote for JV16 for defragmenting better than the NTRegOpt program. Jeremy Posted January 19, 2008 Share Posted January 19, 2008 I would advise against using any of the dozens of generic registry cleaners you find on Google.A lot of companies will go to Rent-A-Coder and pay a programmer $1000 for a month's worth of coding them a quick P.O.S. cleaner just to make a bit of money from some poor sucker.I would stick with ones that are very popular and updated like JV16, CCleaner and maybe TuneUp Utilities and Ace Utilities.Although, JV16 is made by the guy who pretty much started the whole registry cleaning genre back in the 1990's with his original RegCleaner.Google Search 1Google Search 2Notice the similarities in the results?One of the important priorities for JV16 right now is Vista X64 support.
