Its really not difficult. Maybe youre keeping too much stuff.

Ok , for your information:

1. I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic RTM 32 Bit Spanish.
   
2. Download Fox's Vista vLite Update Integration Pack 1.2.3 x86 32 Bit (32 Bit x86 vLite Vista Update Pack Forum)
   
3. Integrate the 50 hotfixes (I wrote early that was 90 hotfixes, sorry for that)
   
4. Apply my preset
   
5. After install, use PServ for disable unneeded services and reduce memory footprint to 170 - 160 MB.
   

I create a Pserv "XML Template" for disable services, i would share if anyone is interest.

I came up with this idea one night, (may be many of you did ,too).

I want us to share our experience with Vlited iso we modify as regards

1- Size of Iso (w/o apps, hotties,...)

2-Install size of the iso

3- simple score of 1 to 5 on stability & satisfaction

exept for this:

I cannot connect to my wireless network no more, vista doest even detect any availiable network, when I vlited the DVD I don't remember removing ANY!!! Network related components. When I try to diagnose the prob I get this "this network adapter is not correctly configured to use the ip protocol" n also I can't enable my network adapter, I hit enable but it just goes back to the disable state on its own. Can anyboy give me some fixes??????

spyboy, you should have created a new topic for bug report.

Try keeping IP Helper, Network Center and TCP/IP NetBios Helper. Network Center and Wireless Configuration are 100% needed for wireless.

If you do have all those installed then try to debug your issue regardless of vLite, it may be a configuration issue.

i have windows vista ultimate dvd size 2.50 gb

in dvd all version present like home basic and home premium ,buisness etc.

but i want only windows vista home premium in single cd

when i delete some feature from dvd with vlite

then click make iso

the iso size 2.63gb

but iwant only home premium in single cd

naman, first press Apply - Rebuild One, then after it's done make the iso.

You enabled the ISO page before Apply, read the description on the Task selection page for more info.

Yesterday I tested my new version of Vista:

6001.18000.080118-1840_amd64fre_Client_en-us-FRMCXFRE_EN_DVD.iso (Vista Ultimate x64 with SP1 preintegrated; 3,66 GB)

with VMWare:

I created a Vista Home Basic x64 and removed all the features I never want to use.

Only some drivers and the german x64 language pack was added by me.

If someone wants to know what I removed, look inside the quote.

Size now is excactly 1,3GB, installed at a VMware about 8GB (whole partition C:\)

Holy crap! We should sticky this thread for future Vista users like mt so that we can come here and start off with using yalls tweaked session files! Vista taking 1.3 gig of space down from 13gb is amazing!

its great.. everything works (almost.. bluetooth dont - dont know why..)

i did make a mistake..by deleting ..eh .. S.. how is that ? sry.. i need to go to bed.. i'll edit it in the morning

edit: yea.. i meant Superfetch..

the vista with Superfetch is going Smoother (for example in WoW you feel the diference)

I was looking at getting a vista version with the media center stuff and vlite-ing it down to just the media center stuff and anything it needs to run it

was hoping to get it running on an 1.2Ghz 1GB RAM machine, anyone wanna take up the challenge?

i will give my option on server 2008

1. windows server 2008 rc1 1.7GB [5.7gb hdd space ]

2. the lite ver take about 3giga hdd space and 700mb iso [if u use WAIK u could make it 2.7GB and if u use more 2.34GB]

3. stability: 5 satisfaction: 5 [ fixed that ]

i stop using vista cuz its loaded of stuff i wont use

mostly vista start with 800mb of ram used and server much lower around 400mb

Could you please post/pm your lastsesssion.ini file? I've been trying to work with server 2008, but my vlite'd versions always have someting or the other wrong.
