Nerwin Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) I just came across this on Newegg, and i never seen a mobo with integrated DVI, kinda of cool, I just wanted to share and maybe start some conservations about it.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813151077 Edited January 2, 2008 by computerMan

Ponch Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 and maybe start some conservations about it. hum, excuse me.
puntoMX Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Well, the boards with onboard DVI are out since AMD released there 690V/G chipsets. ASRock made add-on cards to use the onboard VGA in combination with the PCI-E port and that gave you the DVI connector.
newsposter Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 well, a 'power search' on newegg for dvi motherboards brings back more than 20 hits.Even more than that on tigerdirect.
nitroshift Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Interesting, but the processing is still upon the CPU...
puntoMX Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Interesting, but the processing is still upon the CPU...Why that? It’s a complete integrated GPU, just without a dedicated RAM part. That would not use the CPU to bring on the eye candy in games or your Vista OS, unless it doesn’t have the hardware shaders/instructions; are you referring to this?

puntoMX Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Yep!Even non integrated VGA does that, no way a card under 40 USD can do more then integrated graphics, and for laptops as we can read on this forum that’s about double the price.
