videobruce Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 On the page that gives you the four options of making a ISO or burning, I first choose "Create image".I then choose "Direct Burn" (after I made a ISO file first). The HDD spinned. the burner did not, but it said the burn was done even though nothing happened.Any ideas here or is it a bug?
strotee76 Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 I believe you are misunderstanding what those options mean:1) Direct burn - burns directly to a blank CD (I rarely use this option)2) Make ISO - creates and saves the ISO to the hard driveI choose "Make ISO" 99% of the time since I then test in VMWare before burning it to CD. I only burn it to CD *usually in Nero* once I know the ISO works as expected in VMWare. Hope this answers your question.
neo Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 (edited) Create Image means......creating ISO image to HDDDirect Burn means.......Insert Blank disc...and burn the disc. Its not bug....its too heady option to deploy final XP disc to make usable source.strotee76 You have beat me....by 2 mins....Thanks for Info Edited December 25, 2007 by neo
videobruce Posted December 25, 2007 Author Posted December 25, 2007 (edited) I believe you are misunderstanding what those options mean: No I don't. I understood the difference. The "Direct Burn" didn't do anything when I did the process as I described. I did the iso, then I tried direct burn, but it didn't do anything other than spinning the HDD and showing it was burning. The optical drive never spinned. its too heady option to deploy final XP disc to make usable source. Huh?? Edited December 25, 2007 by videobruce
Ponch Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Does your burner appear in the "Device" box ?
