We did talk about it before and apparently it used to be easy to modify the NVIDIA drivers to remove the Intel chipset check.

Hmmm, I saw the posts and the hacked 85.96 drivers and some 7 series from nVidia. Would be cool to see some 16x.xx drivers and 8 series working in SLI on an x38 system...

Isn't there some sort of 'video splitter' box?

Where you set your windows resolution to something ridiculous like 6000x1050 and then the box sections it off for each monitor?

I forget what its called. I saw a thread about one here. It was for 3 monitors though.

I think you're talking about the TripleHead2Go.
But, as the name suggests, it only has three outputs. Not four. I think one of those Quad cards would work well. But they are pricey.

Well they need it for their server to run 4 independent displays for it. They need to be able to use all 4 at the same time. I am not sure if SLI or dual video cards would accomplish this or not without getting a card meant for things like Auto CAD which would probably be very expensive.

XP and 2003 can support up to 10 displays (not sure about Vista yet), so theoretically you could have 10 single output cards, or 5 dual output cards, or a few multiple output cards in a box (as long as it's not Vista, they don't have to match drivers either). If you've got PCI-X slots in that server, consider something like the Nvidia Quadro NVS line (they have models, like the 440, that come with 2 RAMDACs and can drive 4 displays via dual DMS-59 ports on the card). If you've only got PCI slots, consider 2 NVS 280s instead.

Honestly, I have to agree. While they are expensive, you can't beat multi-monitor support on the Quadro's. To the point that I wish NVIDIA would include the "Allow taskbar to span displays" option in the drivers for their non-Quadro cards.
