Woomera
im looking for a SIMPLE,JUST A FIREWALL for my vista.i dont want any registry guard, malware guard, spam guard, system guard, body guard... or ballons flying on my desktop telling me my registry has been ACCESSED by explorer.exe i used to love my free sygate firewall until Syamntec decided to ruin my life and other's like they always do.i just want a simple firewall that monitor and control my application/system network activity and might have some default attack detection and runs on vista.i would really appreciate it if someone point out a good software Edited November 20, 2007 by Woomera

DigeratiPrime
Have you tried the Firewall built into Vista? It has a significant feature that was absent from previous versions of Windows, namely outbound filtering. I actually still need to try it. Configure Vista Firewall to support outbound packet filteringhttp://searchwindowssecurity.techtarget.co...1247138,00.html
eidenk
Recomended reading for anyone :http://www.matousec.com/projects/windows-p...sts-results.phpThey haven't tested the Vista Firewall yet but I reckon it is going to fare badly. Win2k3EE
A good firewall (and free also) that supports Vista [x32/x64] is Comodo Firewall v3.0. Jetico,Outpost Firewall, EndpointSecurity also support Vista, but are commercial. Edited November 21, 2007 by Win2k3EE
