True, it can be used over the network. If you run it without a specified host, it just pulls the info for the localhost. So it's a little of both. B)

Is there no System Information option somewhere?

found out its installed by MSOffice (its NOT a windows command!)

also if MSInfo is on the cd doesnt mean its a windows command because its seperate from command line package.

I have that file systeminfo.exe in my system32 directory and I don't have Office installed here.

thats because your CD installs MSInfo, i was only giving OP some info that might help him
