October 30, 200718 yr hi NaDer_GenKO,thanks for letting me discover "Driver Genius" thing. I didn't know this even exist.I lost a driver cd, and with this I was able to backup the driver from an other install. Can this Program do the job ? or i need to do something else ?I think, this should work. Select the "inf" file of each driver for the integration. You can't escape from the need to perform a test though. For the Nvidia, this might be problematic.... The driver look more complicated to install (according to the setup) Edited October 30, 200718 yr by extrabigmehdi
October 31, 200718 yr for nvida coudlent you just have the Decompressed driver folder to your windows directory before you make the iso cd? i believe if the inf file is in the same folder it will perform the install thoguh im not 100% sure Edited October 31, 200718 yr by Solace
October 31, 200718 yr Author Hi extrabigmehdi,Thanks for Replay i'm glad for your discover. its very nice program if you plan to try this method please let me know the resultand did you see the another Question ? do you have any idea please
November 3, 200718 yr @NaDer_GenKOWell, just check the drivers in "hardwaremanager". @extrabigmehdiThere´s also "doubledriver" !It´s FREEWARE, but also got the same problem with nvidiadrivers, as "drivergenius" does...Agi Hammerklau
November 3, 200718 yr Best way is to download the latest drivers from the web page of the particular manufacturer, extract them each in their own folder and integrate them.Driver extractors from the current installation are not perfect, sometimes it can report missing files during Windows installation.
November 3, 200718 yr Hi,@AgiHammerklauThere´s also "doubledriver" !It´s FREEWARE, but also got the same problem with nvidiadrivers, as "drivergenius" does...Well the "double driver" official website is down. I'm not confident with a software that is no more supported. Moreover, I never said there was problem with Nvidia.I was just "expecting" problems, but didn't perform any test. Also "driver genius" install at begin "nvidia tweak", so this might means that is support Nvidia at all.I can't test since I'm using currently an ATI card Driver extractors from the current installation are not perfect, sometimes it can report missing files during Windows installation.well I have a problem for my 710c printer. There's no way to download the XP driver since HP say : "it's already included in Xp , no need to download"But what if I want to nlite the printers drivers ?Thanks Hp! I tried driver genius , and although it is able to extract drivers for the 710c,the inf file "ntprint.inf" contains informations for many other printers.I guess this would induce problems as soon as I'll try to install any other printer than the 710c.
November 3, 200718 yr I think also the device manager may tell u if u have the chipset drives installed .. i think
November 3, 200718 yr Author @NaDer_GenKOWell, just check the drivers in "hardwaremanager". I think also the device manager may tell u if u have the chipset drives installed .. i think OK Guys. Where Exactly should i look at in device manager. i see a hardware tree and include a sub trees Like :(Disk drives, Display adapters, Network adapters, Portable Devices, processors, etc .....)and not included a sub tree named "Chipset" so where you guess should i look
November 3, 200718 yr @extrabigmehdiDidn´t know, it is discontinued. Backuped the drivers long time ago, since there are no new ones, for my old system.Thought, it might be a cheap alternative.Seems, I got it wrong, about the nvidia drivers.@NaDer_GenKOSorry, of cause it´s the device manager !I´m running a german windows, so I mixed up the english terms.Just choose the option "show hidden devices", there shouldn´t be a yellow "?" or "!".Especially check the tree "systemdevices".Have an AMD with VIA chipset, so there´s VIA CPU to AGP and so on.Agi Hammerklau
November 3, 200718 yr to refresh my memory on integrating the whole of the BtS driverpacks using nlite:Extract the BtS driver packs to a directory tree.Tell nlite to grab them all as PnP drivers.Extract all of the BtS text-mode drivers into another directory treeExpand the .sys_ to .sys, etc, etc.Tell nlite to grab all of these as text-mode driversCarry on with other nlite goodness........Is that roughly (or even close to exactly) close enough to get the job done correctly?Oh, and are the .ini files that are packages with the BtS driver packs of any use to nlite and if so, where shoudl they be placed in relation to the extracted drivers?thanks!!! November 3, 200718 yr what i would do beside those programs backup drivers you guys mention above.i downloaded all the latest drivers, extract all compressed (.exe) files then using DriverCompressor (DrvComp v2007.08.09) to create driver packages.Save it for nlite integrate.
November 4, 200718 yr Author Best way is to download the latest drivers from the web page of the particular manufacturer, extract them each in their own folder and integrate them.Driver extractors from the current installation are not perfect, sometimes it can report missing files during Windows installation.Hi nuhi,Thank you for the advice its very precious.i did like you say. But for the chipset i follow the raskren tutorial Here to Extract the driver.So. i have now a lot of INF files which one i select to integrate in nLite ?Thank you,
