I have a problem.

Im using Outlook Express for my emails.

And im wondering can i password protect Outlook Express, because my brother is always going through my emails (you might find this funny ). And i have a lot of personal emails and i want to put Outlook express under password.

How about using Windows XP's profiles ?

Select File | Identities | Manage Identities from the menu.

Highlight your identity.

Click Properties.

Make sure Require a password is checked.

Type the desired password under New Password and Confirm New Password.

Click OK.

Click OK again.

Finally, select Close.

This method will guard against the casual user, but a really determined person will likely be able to get around it.

Don't understand under which menu are the Indentities ?

Look under "File" in the main Menu Bar.

You really ought to give your brother a seperate user account on the computer, and password protect yours.

send it an email that says some thing like

Ok I've had it. Hes read my email for the last time.

This is getting old. I've wired the 2000$ USD to your account. Take him out.

then login to the account and reply with:

I've received the payment. I can have it taken care of before sundown.

I need you to confirm the target. I've attached a picture of the assumed target.

Just reply yes or no.

I'd go with that... Might not make him stop, from fear of when the 'deed' will happen.... but it'd be funny!

2) Create a user profile. This is probably better since you can protect your OE account with a login password rather than an identity password, and with profile password, you can protect your documents in My Documents folder.

two solutions (assuming you have a seperate user account, which you should):

1: Encrypt them. Duh.

2: Use file permissions to deny access to them

3: If they're in that user's profile, then they won't be accessible anyway.
