Flash Drive cannot be opened

When I plugged my Kinston 512MB USB flash drive in to the USB port the computer recognizes it and shows the Icon i My Computer.But when I double click the Icon it gives the message "Please insert a disk in to drive I:". When I go to the properties of the drive it shows 0MB free and 0MB used.Search option or Explore option lso is not work for it. Even it cant be Formatted.Please help me. :(

in disk management does it show what file system it is? It could be the usb stick is toast if all the other usb sticks work fine. why not try it on another computer?

Unfortunately, that may be a symptom the drive is "toasted".

In some cases, the drives can be recovered.

You will need to try (cannot say if it will be possible) to access it directly from direct

\.\PHYSICALDRIVEx in order to possibly recover some data.

If you already have a backup of the data, you can skip the above and use the appropriate "Recovery" or "Mass Production Tool" for that stick/controller.
