DigeratiPrime Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 i know that, I was wondering if you had followed the link and downloaded the update from that page?
RJARRRPCGP Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 So i think that it may be problem with my MSI installer so that i download the new one from MicrosoftI agree with you! It does sound like a corrupted MSI installation.
puntoMX Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I agree with you! It does sound like a corrupted MSI installation. No, it has nothing to do with the MSI install shield. It’s a bug in the older, read first public release, of the Norton suite.
xtremee Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) @DigeratiPrime, i know that, I was wondering if you had followed the link and downloaded the update from that page?Sure i try this solution before post this topic.=========================================================================@RJARRRPCGP,I agree with you! It does sound like a corrupted MSI installation. No, i don'tIf you read my topic from first you will find MSI installer: work ok except with NAV Which mean that the problem is resident in Norton it self as puntoMX sayIt’s a bug in the older, read first public release, of the Norton suite.=========================================================================The good things that i Finally get the solution of this problem which is simply some .cat files that are needed to be in CatRoot folders !But the bad things that i get another problem which occure after enter my Product Key and starting copy some files (look to be work ok !) i get this error:Symantec website for support and i will try there solution hope to workthen as usaul i go to Edited August 17, 2007 by xtremee
bonestonne Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 anything but Norton!its entirely possible that Norton is the source of this problem [and if you continue to try installing, it could become the source of many more problems to come].Avast!
xtremee Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 OoIt make it againthe solution of Symantec don't work with me for the 2nd time!!I will never surrender :angrym:
Jeremy Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I received the same error message with the latest Norton garbage in VMware. So as far as I am concerned, it has nothing to do with a previous version.
xtremee Posted August 24, 2007 Author Posted August 24, 2007 The previous versions of NAV give the same error I think that the case of this error is that NAV installer can't treatment with this path All Users\Application Data\Symantec i will try to find a solution for this !
DigeratiPrime Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 i downloaded the latest Norton IS 2007 from the Symantec website and it bombs in vmware for xp but not for vista. http://liveupdate.symantec.com/upgrade/NIS071040.exeNorton IS 2008 Beta installs fine on XP thoughftp://ftp.symantec.com/misc/sabu/nis_beta/NIS08TD.exe
