nmX.Memnoch Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I knew this was bound to happen...Cisco has decided to kill off the Linksys name and use the Cisco brand across all of their products.http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=41269
puntoMX Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Well, I´m sure they will continue with the products, just under the Cisco name. I hope prices don´t rise now...
jcarle Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I guess that means the end for the WRT54G/GS/GL product line as well. I honestly believe this may be a bad move on Cisco's part... I think they did this too early. Considering that Linksys switches and routers are amongst the top selling in their respective categories.Cisco is synonimous with quality and speed sure... but it's also synonimous with expensive... and I believe that will drive people away from their products.
Tarun Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Doesn't The Inquirer post a bunch of junk/false news?It might be true though, found this: http://www.uberpulse.com/us/2007/07/cisco_...rkets_video.php
nmX.Memnoch Posted July 28, 2007 Author Posted July 28, 2007 You have to read between the lines when reading articles on The Inquirer...but they more often than not get reasonably accurate information. I don't like their opinionated articles because their opinions are usually pretty far out there...for example, I'm glad Fuad isn't posting there anymore.http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/networking/cisc...isco-282921.phphttp://www.engadget.com/2007/07/27/cisco-a...nksys-branding/http://slashdot.org/articles/07/07/27/0044202.shtmlhttp://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=c...G=Google+Search
