Techrecruit Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I just got into pc gaming and was curious what your #1 game pick would be for a beginner. Nothing to difficult to learn b/c I don't want to read the manual for a few weeks to get up to speed on all the functionality
DigeratiPrime Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 What type of games do you like? What type of pc or video card do you have?
Techrecruit Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Shooter games like SoCom on PS2 -I'm using the factory video card and I just bought a new Dell Desktop pretty loaded
ripken204 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 so what video card is it..i've never played socom but it looks somewhat similar to counterstrike of battlefield..
Techrecruit Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 I'll check when I get home and shoot over the specifics of the video card
ripken204 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Doom 3, F.E.A.R.F.E.A.R. i cant wait for the sequal to come out i have to play this game again with my surround sound, not that will be scary!
DL. Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 It very much depends on the computer specs, you can forget about newer games if some of the specs (primarily video card and CPU) are low. Especially shooters (often called FPS=first person shooters) are quite demanding on your system. Older games use simpler controls and may therefore be easier for beginners, playing games on the PC is a slightly different experience compared to playing on consoles (most people would prefer to play shooters on PC).F.E.A.R. won't work very well with a simple video card meant for office use.
ripken204 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 well we asked what video card he has and he failed to respond
DL. Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 well we asked what video card he has and he failed to respondYeah I know, but stressing the importance of the video card when it comes to FPS-games doesn't hurt (as you know, far from every new PC has a descent vid card). Even if the topic starter doesn't come back, it may give others in a similar situation something to think about.
Zxian Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I'm surprised nobody said FarCry. I love that game...
Kelsenellenelvian Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 RedFaction was cool too..But thats pretty old school....
