I was trying to run Vlc with some videos on a Pentium II 333mhz with 96 mb ram. I was running both VLC and the video off a flash drive in the usb 1.0 port. The playback was very poor the video was extrmely choppy and the audio was garbled. I tried both an avi and mp4 file with the avi giving the bad video and the mp4 not even playing. Is their any way I can maybe fix this issue and watch some videos? Would maybe having VLC onnthe hard drive be better? Maybe another video player? (The hdd is only 8gb and 6.5. are full so im limited on space)There is no reason behind doing this it is just for fun.

I was wondering if it was at all possible to run windows 98 nativley on new hardware. The built would contain a Pentium G3258,8gb ram,40gb ide drive and ide cd-rom, and a pci graphics card. The pc would also boot linux which would be on a seperate sata harddrive with a sata dvd-rom and use a pci express graphics card. I know you can run 98 with that much ram(change a setting in a file(iv done it before) but am unsure about the processor speed and that its 64 bit. I am aware that Windows 98 will only see one core. I know I could just use virtulization(which I currently do on a difrrent pc) but that takes the fun away.

Hello reader, I've got a windows 98 SE problem: I installed windows 98 on a Thinkpad T-21 which has a Pentium III around 600 Mhz if not more, a few days later I moved the hdd to an other laptop, a Compaq Armada E500 and windows started to install and (I think) change cpu drivers, it suddenly talked about 'installing Pentium II stuff bla.' A few hours later I moved it back to the T-21 and those E500 drivers are still there ! Z-cpu now only gives 200mhz ! and it is really slowing down the laptop, I only expirienced this recently for some reason, (I did the driver swapping a few days ago.) Could I have any help with this ? is there a way to change the drivers, or do I have to make a dirty or clean install ? I can give you a list of system drivers if you want. Thanks.
