There doesn't seem to be an option to specify it other than the little squares above your name at the top. I use blue at work and pink at home, but I never log out of the site. It stores your color in your cookie I think. Do you have your browser set to delete your cookies?

I am fairly certain that the phase used after the boot.wim/WDS process is used is not WinPE. It is Windows Setup. But, technically I believe you aren't supposed to deploy (actually, you do not even mention which OS you are using!) OK so anyways, you aren't supposed to deploy Vista or 7 with this method to every machine. You can, by all means, go for it, but MS documentation (at least what I have) say you use your Unattend install for the Master Image. Hence you only install it once. Then you would use sysprep (and its XML) to redeploy that image to other machines.

Yep, WinPE 1.x uses XP or (possibly) 2003 drivers, WinPE 2.x uses Vista or (possibly) 2008, and WinPE 3.0 needs 7 (or Vista) drivers. Its a very strict little OS sometimes.

I wouldn't think there is a setup in there, then again, I've never used the WAIK so I am not certain what the differences are between that and the OPK Tools.

I always figured that it all comes down to support. If you use theirs, do you have to pay extra? Is it warranted by them, so if it breaks a year from now will they replace it for free? That's always the risk of buying your own equipment, if its out of warranty, you need to buy another one. I do not know how much the products are, and I don't have AT&T but have worked at ISPs in the past.

THe boot.wim you are using is from a Windows 7 install DVD, not the one created by the WAIK.

This error does not appear to be related to rebooting or lockup issues, but more so that a program is not functioning properly. There are many programs you can run to test your hard drive. Certain drives have specific tools available, such as SeaTools for Seagate, WD Tools for Western Digital. Take a look at your Event Viewer and see if you have any suspect errors or warnings in there.

Be warned! This isn't supposed to happen with USB keys! This is a known behaviour of at least two of the Conficker variants, among other things, so make sure you check for that.

It sounds more like a program is taking priority over Explorer. What kind of resources do you have? - Hard drive free space - total memory - number of processes (look in task manager)

This is correct. You need to load a registry hive, and select the file on the XP drive. The hives are located in C:\Windows\System32\Config You will want to load the one called SYSTEM. Make sure to unload the hive before closing regedit, I hear bad things can happen if you don't. That is to say, I've always followed the unload rule!
