  2. Its typically not recommended to install Office 2010 x64 unless it is for development testing.
  3. You have a couple options... you can find a second hand recovery CD for this model. It is possible that other models may work but you may need to install some drivers. Another option is to buy a new OS... but I do not know if you can get Tablet Edition easily. I know its on MSDN but I my account level doesn't let me download it.
  4. I renamed the topic title slightly to include Norton Antivirus 2011 as well. System Builder versions: /qr - progressbar /qn - totally silent. Retail version doesn't appear to have support for switches, but the program has these inside them: NOREBOOT IGNOREADDONS PRODID VALIDATE LOGDIR COPYBASECACHE RODONE RUNONCE DELETEMODE - this has to do with uninstalling a product DEFLAG SHOWERRORS TRAYONLY FORCECONFIG TESTMODE TEST ADMIN MEDIA
  5. To find paths, you can use things similar to this: I don't use the particular method you are for doing app installs (I don't use DVDs) but you can set up Distribution Share which can copy files from one place to the OS drive.
  6. You will need to provide instructional examples, not actual examples like this. You are not allowed to redistribute Flash Player or Microsoft Silverlight either.
  7. What browsers have you tried?
  8. I have found a ton of helpful information on the dd-wrt wiki, even if you aren't using that firmware. They have one under advanced about Wireless Bridging. Of course, specific instructions will likely not apply to your hardware since it is created for a custom firmware. Either way, they have good glossaries to explain a lot of stuff.
  9. Take the HDD out of the system, then turn it on and see if you still get this error.
  10. You create an additional one, as seen in Create an ImageX Configuration File on TechNet... also in WAIK User's Guide CHM.
  11. Setupcomplete you can specify the location of the programs you are going to run. So you could do something like attach a USB Hard Drive that has your programs on it, or use a network share.
  12. If you had obtained this permission, you should provide a copy of the letter (probably make a PDF) with your product. Secondly, if your product does contain portions of AutoIT, you are required to provide the AutoIT EULA along with your product. Please revise your posts to adhere to the forum rules.
  13. Have you tried taking ownership of the files? I had to do that when I took a data drive from my old XP PC and put it in my Win7 PC. It was initially a pain but it is fine now.
  14. Windows is silly. Even though you are working in a System32 folder that is NOT the one for your OS (mounted WIMs do this too) Windows will still protect files in there against changing. Annoying huh? You can try to attrib -s -h on winload.exe, replace it and then attrib +s +h.
  15. It depends on what wireless channel they are on. They could be interfering with each other. You should do a site survey if either of your routers have that option. You could also do some "testing" by seeing how the signal is with only one or the other turned on at a time.
  16. I've always been annoyed by non-beeping motherboards. There was always the "easy" test to see if something was wrong with an Intel board (it doesn't work on MSI or AOpen tho) which is to take all the RAM out and turn it on. If you got no beeps, the board was bad. But like I said, other manufacturers' boards didn't always beep at all (or even have speakers) so this test only worked for Intel that I am aware of. You can ask someone, does your computer beep when you turn it on? But people don't usually remember if they do or not.
  17. It is neither a feature or a package, and it is not something you can change in OfflineServicing. You may need to do a regedit to disable it.
  18. I don't see why not. I am looking at my 2008 web server answer file and it *could* work with Windows 7. But there are a couple things that may cause a problem, you'd have to test it. I can think of these issues: 1. The user account you specify would get created on both 7 and 2008 installs. This shouldn't be too big of a problem since you can just delete that user from 2008 afterwards. 2. Computername... both would get the same computer name. Probably should have it set to * to generate a random name if you want them to be different. 3. The fact that the Administrator account is disabled in 7 may cause a problem when trying to assign a password to it. 4. If you have any packages to configure, a 7 install may error if it doesn't have those packages... That being said, here is what you should do. Create 2 answer files, one for 7 and one for 2008. Then you need to create a new boot.wim that gives you an option to launch setup of either OS. So if you pick Windows 7, you run setup.exe /unattend:win7.xml, and obviously other option to install 2008 using its own XML. You specify the image number for each, say 7 is 1 and 2008 is 2.
  19. Lucky you! I used to have this board in my home PC! But oh... um... no Windows 7 x64 support for this board... Best chance is use Vista x64 instead which uses the same driver model as Windows 7. I've never had the ability to test either of these components (SOL and IME) so I do not know if these drivers will work. AMT SOL driver: intel.com IME driver: intel.com You should be able to open both of these EXE files with WinRaR or 7zip to get to the actual driver files. Since I'm home I don't have my dox but you are likely looking for heci.inf and mesrle.inf (mesrl.inf is for 32bit) if memory serves me.
  20. I wish I could have this problem of yours Well I can understand what you mean by that. But when something does happen in the field, its hard to have that on-hand knowledge of how a PC or peice of hardware works in every day operation. So yes, it can be great if nothing ends up happening with it, or if a customer doesn't come up with questions you never thought to bother with. Then it becomes a pain.
  21. That is to be expected. Why can't you use setupcomplete.cmd?
  22. Looks like you've already found the place for those kind of questions!
  23. Yes there is a jumper for which BIOS version you want to use. The two sets are below the (first) PCI-E x16 slot. I don't see a real picture of the board yet. I am going to bet there is a jumper on the second block. The first block is the backup BIOS. Wonder if you can move the jumper to that one and see if it boots? You can see this on Page 7 of the manual. I didn't find where those were actually discussed! Maybe those are the chips and not jumper blocks? The manual says it is an Award BIOS! However I can't seem to find the "correct" instructions but you can try this I guess. Get the appropriate BIOS version from Gigabyte's website. There looks to be 3 different board revs, I will use the 3.0 in this example. But make sure you get the appropriate one for your rev. The rev should be printed on the board somewhere. Change the autoexec.bat file that comes with the update using this format: awdflash XXXXXXXX.BIN /py/sn/f/cc/r So the one I downloaded would look like this: flashpi 965pds4.f12 /py/sn/f/cc/r Curious how they say you can use this method to recover the BIOS, but if the system doesn't POST, I can't see why booting off a floppy disk would work! This could be why: Sorry, not linking to where quote came from. But if that special part is damaged, you can't do a floppy boot and looks like chip swaps are the only way to fix that case... or get new motherboard. HOWEVER, your symptoms of the system turning on and off like that is a common thing in 965 boards, at least Intel. The reason for it was that the board doesn't see the CPU and shuts off, but of course it turns back on to try again. You can try to reseat the CPU if you can as well. Considering the events that led to this problem of yours, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a hardware failure on the system. Either there was a heat or voltage issue, a bad cap, etc.
  24. I never end up having product around long enough to know the benefits or detriments (sic) of different driver versions.
  25. If you use an answer file for sysprep you can try these ideas. 1. Use RouterDiscoveryEnabled in the Specialize Pass. 2. As far as File and Printer Sharing, I believe this is tied to the network location. You can try setting a Work or Home option for NetworkLocation in the oobeSystem pass.
