  1. I used partition find and mount to find a Windows XP NTFS partition that I had on one of my older drives. I was very glad when it was able to create a full image of the 80GB partition. However, when I mount the partition in Windows 7 using this same software, I am not able to access or copy many of the files on the disk due to NTFS ownership and permissions. Partition find and mount only allows mounting the image in a "hardware" read only mode for the purposes of data integrity, so I'm not able to modify the permissions on these folders! How can I get my data off of this image?
  2. Before installing, I used rt7lite to customize my legitimately licensed Windows 7 Ultimate installer to save space and to slipstream service pack 1 beta. Now I'm realizing that the latter may have been a poor choice. I cannot uninstall service pack 1 beta to install the final service pack, and the above message has just appeared. It would be a big hassle to re-configure my Windows installer, let alone backup and re-install. Is there anything I can do to mark this copy "non-pre-release"?
  3. Hi, I came across this forum after searching endlessly for a way to fix my laptop drive. It's a Seagate Momentus 5400.6 Model: ST9500325AS Firmware: 0010LVM1 It shows LBA 0 with various tools. Some BIOSes will recognize it, others wont. MHDD says: "Getting SMART attributes, error, device error" "Recal Fail" I'm reading through the guides here for fixing the 7200.11. I hope there's something similar that I can do to fix my drive.
