  2. & Welcome I think what the mod & the rest of us dudes think is you shouldn't post until you exhausted all other avenues.. This link is your bible..everything is there for you..This Cheers MC.
  3. @CompFX & Welcome Thats great fella, but pls use the edit button in preference to multiple posts in the same thread (Is mentioned in the rules) Use the radio button adj quote bott. right. Glad you sorted ya problem. Cheers MC.
  4. thats how i do it , works for me Yeah, but ya don't need to..
  5. Or as mentioned use two ROE & reboot between first & second ROE. In the second ROE after all apps are installed call your batch with all the cleanup stuff you need. I have been doin similar for quite a while & working well. Cheers MC.
  6. Look ya probbly posted in the wrong area, but I'm pretty sure its supposed to be in both the $oem$ & oem dir for it to perform corectly. If not put it to Bashy in his driverpack threads. Cheers MC.
  7. I think so too. For the question of where the actual working directory is when executing a file from the registry, I received this result with executing this code. MsgBox(0, 'WorkingDir is ...', @WorkingDir) The return was C:\ If you had you script within the systemdrive path then your original code may have worked. Nothing better though of being explicit with the fullpath though. Luv this place grreat minds MC.
  8. & Thanks Yeah, did I see that was a SLI card don't think the Abit AL8 supports em? MC.
  9. @Vitalix Mainly power use, not gaming really just want something a little quicker & reliable than the norm. Thanks for ya input. The eVGA what should I expect to pay roughly for that card? Cheers MC
  10. It doesn't really matter what method you use. Windows by default has an administrator. If you create Administrator.PC1 it will Not replace "Administrator" that is where your duplicated folders are coming from. As I mentioned earlier your probably better off using the default administrator acount untill you gain enough knowledge. Then simply rename or add a user once window setup finishes if required. Theres plenty of reading material on this board, try the new unattended guide.Try here...
  11. Need to Sort your computer name out? Sometimes easier to set up as one (main) administrator to start with. I could be wrong, but you must be naming your computer that way in the ans file/winnt.sif or useraccounts.cmd called from cmdlines.txt? With the firefox profiles/settings etc, this has been explained many times in SOF & many other places on this board. I usually save my profiles & sfx them to the new installation & works well every time.
  12. Cheers, thanks for the info & quick response.
  13. Huh, well lets hope it will be as flexible as XP & maybe Dino can get he's NLite to remove any bloat outa it. Cheers MC.
  14. Still perusing in looking into buying my new box. Im settling into the Abit AL8 3rd eye with a Pent D pro 3.0Ghz. Just wandering if the Abit graphic cards rate & is this a good idea to have both mobo & graphic card the same brand? I never have before. I don't game or very little, but like the whole thing to run as fast as posible. I have a geforce 9800 xt 256mb atm. & runs nicely. I'm lookin at the Abit Radeon R9550-Guru 256mb/128bit reasonably priced also under $150 au. All advice appreciated Cheers MC.
  15. Originally, the next generation file system dubbed WinFS was going to ship with Windows Vista, however someone over in Redmond decided that to include it in the original release would not be feasable as it is still in the early beta stages. It will be released at the same time as Longhorn Server. As far as installation goes, it is image based, so it will be super-quick to install and very easy to do an unattended. Microsoft have really geared the installation toward system administrators. Here is a bit of info on the stuff involved http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsvi...ert/ximage.mspx & Thanks for that info man I will also be waiting some time to upgrade to Vista probably when it hits sp1 level if that happens. Ive had XP Pro now for around two years & it hasn't past its use by date yet, as far as I'm concerned its doin what I need & has been reasonably tweakable to date. The installation info mentioned in the MS link you suggested is very interesting the new imaging prog they will use. I do look forward to the future possibly install proceedures, answer files etc & will be closely monitoring these threads as time approaches. Cheers MC.
  16. I have not read the entire Vista threads but a few thoughts below. I believe Vista will be easier to install from what Ive read so far. Does anyone know how this affects an unattended installation? Is it very different to XP? They will be using a new file system, will it be backward compatible to NTFS? Cheers MC
  17. Very good thought & nice script Happy new year to all MSFNers. Cheers MC
  18. As always man .
  19. Nice job on bitdefender bud. Gotta agree with ya re the Roxio, had that a few years ago & had nuthin but headaches glad I got rid of that.
  20. Thanks Smashly for a top tute Thats excellent can't wait to have a go at this one very promising. Cheers MC
  21. Well we all start somewhere, huh I've been here a coupla years now & still learnin.I have made what I think is pretty cool UA with apps creation around two gig on dvd. Keep it up dude Regards MC.
  22. @Phacues® & welcome You really need to do more research not only here but generally. Another good source is the software vendors sites. Would also depend on the type of installer the vendor is using. With Nero six & seven is only a matter of installing as normal then export the ahead file from the windows registry. You can then simply make an sfx installer to install the app & automatically apply the reg. You haven't yet reseached enough all the info is here in some form or another. It will take quite some trial & error, testing however to get this right. Goodluck & Cheers MC.
  23. I'm sure Felix on this board has a fix for this some time back. I don't use it myself. But I'm sure a search will find this.
  24. Truly a solid guide you have produced here & thankyou for an outstanding production.
