  1. Both nLite and vLite freeze for you?

If that is so I would say it could be a heat issue. Try some stress test like a long SuperPI calculation (search web for link).

  2. is there any work around for the unsigned driver issue.. when i intergrate drivers ..during installing box pops up..anyway of disabling them.

    thanks

Go through your driver folders and delete all INF files not related to exact Vista version or non-whql. Before integration.

  3. aviv00, direct to what. I am not an ISO format expert, forget 'bout it.

redxii, fixed in next one, thx.

    FSK-JoKeR, probably :)

iwod, when did I ever post news about upcoming betas, and there is my answer in some of those jolly threads that it will come out.

Next one is tha bomb, biggest size reduction since researchers found that high fructose corn syrup makes you fat.

  4. bledd, ok adding to dependency warning if it turns out not fixable.

nijevaznokosam, it can be antivirus resident protection scanning all files. Also make sure not to use the partition root as the folder, make a folder in it. There was one more reason but I can't remember, you can search the forum.

  5. since it's my own custom distribution (and vLited), you won't see anything different with any other vLited output

I'm not following, can you or can you not use vLite?

Is this an issue of vLiting a previously vLited installation? Have you tried starting fresh, wtihout any tampering from the original DVD?

  6. Yes, and I could manually remove the David Byrne song, language files, manual install, and drivers as well. I already know how to do this; thats beside the point. The purpose of nLite was to make it easy to remove pieces of windows; to save scripts for the future so you dont have to type out bigs lists of what to keep and take away, or worse, try to keep them all stright in your head. (Mine are about 500 lines of settings, including reg tweaks) I submit that those little pieces I mentioned above, (SP2CAB, SP2.CAT, etc.) weigh-in from about 1 Meg to about 21 Meg, and are in 99% cases unneeded, and are commonly removed. I bet that most of those with SP3 that don't remove those files probably don't know that they can be safely removed.

If nLite will let me select several <40kb files for removal, why not a couple more 500KB files? Isn't this sort of thing EXACTLY what nLite is for?

So basically you are saying make it autodelete old cabs on slipstream and any removal?

    Gonna check that.

  7. nuhi, please can you give some more info on this item from 1.4.8 changelog:

"fix: Out of memory error with some addons"

As i've experienced this error a few days ago and streaming video from my cable box is resulting in out of memory errors. The only addon i'm using is: XP_SP3_UpdatePack_072008-r04.7z. I removed window messenger, msn explorer other than that just used some regtweaks. Praying that this is my problem, thought it might be a hardware problem, hope you can reply quickly so i know whether or not to format.

I had several GB spare on each partition btw and i've got 4GB ram and quad core @ 3.5ghz so it's definately not low on resources.

    Many thanks!

It was due to infinite loop mistake is some rare occations during integration, not the Lite Windows operation.

Your stream player probably has some sort of memory deallocation issue or maybe an infinite loop. Report to the authors of whatever program or driver you're using.

  8. In Nlite there's always this bug (?):

Integrating an addon like this: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=79916#79916 Nlite says is updating Netfx.cab but at the end the file is the old one

    Screenshot

    Many thanks

The problem is with how you use the FileMove.

What is that star at the end for?

    [FileMove]

    NETFX.CAB,..\cmpnents\netfx\i386\*

Btw enable reports in the Hotfix page and it will tell that the path has an illegal character in it. Gotta see why this doesn't popup normally because it is an critical error.

I tried it without the star and it's fine.

    Targaff, thx, gonna try.

    Fridge-RaideR, can't complain. Have fun.

5eraph, people don't like automatic tweaks.

  9. I do not want to create a new topic, but I also have some issue with integration of hotfixes:

Windows6.0-KB955020-x64.cab (64MB) gives an error during integration.

msxml4-KB941833-enu.exe - can not be integrated?

Windows-kb890830-v2.0.exe - can not be integrated?

Windows6.0-KB905866-v22-x64.cab - can be integrated, but when Windows Mail is removed new versions appear in WU, but do not install(as for all other versions)

Windows6.0-KB952709-x64 - integrates fine for me (Home Basi X64 NL SP1)

KB955020, why cab, why not download MSU?

Exe cannot be integrated, right. And it is MSI inside, even more complications.

Yeah I get those Mail Filter updates on WU as well, it probably detects parts of SP1 update traces which I leave so it doesn't fail.

  10. Nuhi, any hints as to how we could fix a currently vLited installation to restore the components in Parental Controls that are causing Lost Planet to crash?

I would fix it if the problem was apparent.

To me the demo works just fine and I remove 99% of components including parental controls.
