  1. That is really useful to know. Could you take a look at Ubuntu for me? Some of us were looking in to how to do this over at this topic. Thanks. -kof94
  2. Can the grey condition be set to override an exclusion and lock both check boxes? At present my menu is set to grey any installed item. I also have two exclusions set so that to different anti-virus programs can not be installed together. However, if one of these items is installed (greyed) the exclusion overrides this and makes both items still selectable (one or other). I would prefer that if one item is installed the grey condition takes control and disables both check boxes to save any error. I would, however, suggest this be added to the options menu as not everyone uses grey conditions for this same reason. Thanks. -kof94
  3. Could you add a screen resolution drop down box to the main menu for when ResChanger doesn't work. I've been experiencing issues during RunOnceEx! Thanks. -kof94
  4. Actually, your right about addons. nLite and the MassStorage DriverPack (when it works) would cause you to recreate your boot folder. I think this just comes down to what you add/remove from your setup. -kof94
  5. It is if you add or take way anything that could effect text mode setup! Which may include slipstreaming, addons, driverpacks, using nlite etc. Personally speaking, I prefer to create everything from scratch, that way it's easier to track bugs. -kof94
  6. Was this ever resolved? Although I don't get an error the resolution never changes from 800x600 (Windows Default). I want to scale up to 1024x768. My panel will go way beyond this but since it's only a 17", 1024x768 is my regular setting (for Windows anyway). On some occasions I've managed to get it to work but rarely. Any ideas? -kof94
  7. Thanks buddy, that all I needed to know! -kof94
  8. Do you know which entry effects these highlights? Also, whilst your about it, how would I go about changing the timer bar colour? I know these are probably quite trivial things to most but to be honest the only theme editing I've done up 'til now is customising a few images. Is there a guide to this I've missed? Thanks. -kof94
  9. Create your boot folder after slipstreaming, nliting or anything else that could effect the default text setup routine. -kof94
  10. Simple question. How do you go about changing the highlighted colours for 'checked' or 'greyed'. Thanks -kof94
  11. I think I've found something really useful. I've mentioned in previous posts about how to boot isolinux through CDShell using it's inbuilt functioanlity. The only draw back with this is you have to script each command you require individually into your CDShell menu. Well, I've found a new way. I've been struggling to get Gparted to boot this way, all I seam to get is a kernal sync error (what ever that is). So, I decided to boot the entire iso image using diskemu instead to see what would happen. The result of this is, I now have a fully functioning isolinux boot menu as if you were running it from the original disc. The only problem is, it can't find the source files. Obviously gparted looks for a cd-rom containing the program itself, in this case a file called gparted. So, I copied this file to the root of my disc and deleted it from the .iso. Now all the iso contains is the isolinux folder and the source file is on the disc. Now the whole thing boots. So, in conclusion. If you wish to boot isolinux through CDShell, copy the source files from the original .iso to the same locations on your disc. Then delete them from the .iso leaving just the isolinux folder remaining (this will also reduce the size of the imge). Now simply boot the .iso image using diskemu. I know this seams very definitive and I'm sure there will be situations where this wont work (here you can see me covering my a**) but whilst I've been writing this I've also tried this on Acronis True Image, guess what, it works. Tomorrow I will be testing this on Ubuntu and Knoppix (and anything else I can get my hands on) so I'll keep you posted. -kof94
  12. Sorry I forgot, jetman used a utility to download the entire flykite's guide including downloads, the lot. You'll will find findcd.exe in the downloads folder. See this post. -kof94
  13. You can extract it from this boot disk image from the Windows 98 Seven Years Later project . -kof94
  14. This shouldn't matter if the SetupSourcePath in txtsetup.sif points to the correct folder containing your I386 folder, tag files and your $OEM$ folder. I used to have individual $OEM$ folders for each installation before I started integrated everything instead . Also, where ever your boot folder is make sure you put a copy of your custom winnt.sif in it as well, or it wont work. -kof94
  15. Sorry, I missed your previous post, I haven't been following this topic closely. I only realised the reg file had been removed when I visited My Controls. I have now updated my previous post minus the 'HKEY-USERS' references. -kof94
  16. I haven't used this program in awhile but I believe I wrote an AutoIt script in the end!
  17. Can you please reupload it? Its not there anymore Sorry for some reason the whole attachment has been removed from my member account. I know that MSFN has been going through a bit of a revamp lately so I can only assume it was lost at some point during this process! 18. I agree . If all you need is a good virtual drive and you don't need the latest copy protection emulation, this is the way to go. -kof94
  19. I have to agree in part to this one. You cannot get around the fact that Windows requires a reboot, it's just the way it is. However, I can't see why the guys a Daemon Tools couldn't have written a better installer that just installs everything in one hit (SPTD and Program) then reboot. The fact that they have added a silent switch really makes no difference because of this, everyone is still forced to use Autoit. What was the point?!!! -kof94
  20. Sorry everyone thats probably my fault, especially the "How can I do this?" bit. Seriously though, this is quite a big step. With Bashrat's DriverPacks also going open recently I sense a new culture growing here! This way though at least you know your project will still grow even if you decide to put it down for a while. Personally I think it's a good idea. -kof94
  21. Maybe a full screen installer would be good!? This way you can't be playing around whilst the installations take place. -kof94
  22. Just thought I'd better reply to this topic since I've left it alone for while. I'm still interested in developing a universal strategy, if thats possible. Since multi-booting Windows and many tools has been covered over and over I feel this topic could become quite invaluable over time! I've been very busy lately but rest assured I be back on the mission soon. -kof94
  23. I created this reg tweak (see attached). It disables everything by default except Netmeeting. This is permanent so make a back up of... [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps] ...if you need/want to recover the default sounds scheme. -kof94 Edit: See below
