1. With all the new updates and the desire to auto install programs too my ISO has gotten to big for a CDRW now. I have tried to burn it to a DVD+RW but nero express keeps spitting out the cd and telling me to insert a CDR or a CDRW. Why???? I have made shure I chose the bruner in DVD mode but still no go. What could I be doing wrong?

6. Hay, welcome back GM had me worried there........ This is my 1st time tring it with xphome 4 updates are not working.. KB885836, KB890046, KB890830, KB898461 I have them in the right place as shown on your web site but WU asked me to install them. also is there a way to stop xphome from using owner as an account name? I put a makeuser.cmd in SVC-EXE but the acount was not made either. edit.. also mp10 .net and highmat did not install. edit... forgot one the kb892130 did not work either
7. Thanks the solved my update problem. I'll attach a log file latter have not got one handy right now, but I'll elaberate a bit more on the problem.... everthing acually works and sp2 does install, but it displays the two lines on top of one another. I hope that makes sence. Edit: Ok here is my log file... XPlode.rar
8. Yup! I was still using the original. Had not have time to relearn the new one untill the summer started. I got everything working but 2 things..... for some resone it will not display right (does in 2000 but not xp) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> <XPlode4> <config> <environment> <!-- strings for the original display plugin --> <display.title>Updating Windows XP Phase 1</display.title> <display.complete>completed</display.complete> <!-- strings for the adduser plugin, #1# is replaced by the username/groupname--> <acctmgmt.adduser>Adding user: #1#</acctmgmt.adduser> <acctmgmt.deluser>Deleting user: #1#</acctmgmt.deluser> <acctmgmt.addgroup>Adding group: #1#</acctmgmt.addgroup> <acctmgmt.delgroup>Deleting group: #1#</acctmgmt.delgroup> <!-- strings for the adduser plugin, #1# is replaced by the program --> <execute.string>Executing: #1#</execute.string> <!-- strings for the misc plugin --> <misc.sfcos-disable>Disabling Windows File Protection</misc.sfcos-disable> <misc.sfcos-enable>Enabling Windows File Protection</misc.sfcos-enable> <!-- strings for the registry plugin --> <registry.read>Reading from registry</registry.read> <registry.write>Writing to registry</registry.write> </environment> <!-- Block containing all settings for the current display plugin. 9. I was just wondering if this can be done with win2000 as well?
10. I have been getting these errors too. it has something to do with the new updates. What I could sugest is (which is what I did) is run the new updates from runonces and let XPC do the rest.
11. That rollup update is out it is showing in WU as KB891861. here is the link to it http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en Could it be slipstreamed in??
12. I found the update that I am having problems with maybe there is another spot I can put it? Windows2000-KB893086-x86-ENU.EXE
13. Thats the same thing I had to do. ATI drivers was giving me a entry point not found error with GDI32.DLL. Some games would not play or install correctly if at all. power DVD did not reconized dx was installed at all. I also expericeing shuting down and rebooting problems (would just lock up and not do anythimg). I now run it from runonce and so far everthing seems ok.
14. what folder do i put this in? edit: i think i found it.
15. That was it! I took them updates out and put all of the new ones in and everything worked great thanks EDIT Nope I was wrong it still does it so I have it narrowed down to one of 2 update I'll get back to you.
16. Ok.... I put all of the updates in HF1 and win2000 went tilt so I am doing one at a time to find out which one(s) are doing it. I put WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe in by it self seems to install ok msiexec /? reports v3.01.4000.1823 . With out this update I get msiexec /? reports v3.00.3790.2538 so it is safe to say that this update replaces the WINDOWSINSTALLER-KB884016-V2-X86.EXE update. UPDATE I put IE6.0sp1-KB890923-Windows-2000-XP-x86-ENU.exe in HF1 and all is well.
17. @M1thrandir It would be sales@xpcreate.com. Be patient he has a lot on his plate (like school) as long as you read eveything and send it correctly you will get it.
18. Some new updates came out for win2000: IE6.0sp1-KB890923-Windows-2000-XP-x86-ENU.exe Windows2000-KB842773-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB890859-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB893066-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB893086-x86-ENU.EXE WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe I am assuming they go in HF1. Would WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe replace WINDOWSINSTALLER-KB884016-V2-X86.EXE or do I need both?

New Version

Well every thing is working but...... with win2000 after install is completed I go to install power dvd 5 manually it errors out and says I need to install DX8 or higher. DX9 apears to be installed and working but it does not show under add/remove programs (not shure if thats the problem or not). with xp I don't have any problems using the same power dvd 5. I was wondering if any one else has come across this issue.
20. So you are saying that I should use the B_21349? so I would use... $OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\B_21349 instead of.. $OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\v09 ? Runnning the util is not the problem the problem is when I do an auto install and a window come up saying can not find files in c:\DRIVERS\v09\.\B_07315. I have to keep changing it all the time. Or am I still doing something wrong?
21. Here is the one for ATI: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894 When you d/l the driver and get it to unzip I go to .\wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-111-050222a-021277c\Driver\2KXP_INF this is were I run your utill but the missing files are in \wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-111-050222a-021277c\Driver\2KXP_INF\B_21349. If I don't have the B_21349 with the files in it I get ask for location of the files. I hope this helps.
22. After tring it on a lot of diferent drivers I have found a few gliches.... On SIS video driver the driver does not like the file SiSInst.dll compressed on install win2000 said could not find file. To fix it I just restored this file to original. On ATI (and some others) there is a sub folder B_09006 were part of the driver is stored. Your utill reports thoughs files as not found. I copied all filles in that fold together with the rest and run the utill again worked fine, but on the install it came up looking for the files in this folder and I had to change the location. After install was complete the driver install did not work. Any ideas?
23. Will this work with win2000? Has anyone tried to use this with XPCREATE?
24. WOW this is a cool tool I tried it on all of my drivers that I have on my 2000 CD and my ISO is now a 100megs smaller! I still have to test it yet though I'll let you know how it turns out.
25. I am shure this has been already covered some were here (but I could be wrong). Try reading this may be what you are looking for. http://xpcreate.com/versions.htm
