  1. Hi frnds, i donno if someone has already posted this method here....so i m posting it if anyone interested. to integrate vista sp1 into vista RTM DVD, follow instructions below. Source : Mydigitallife AMIT
  2. @nuhi, i think u are talking abt "Atsiv" . yeah i have read that microsoft have banned this tool caz of loading non WHQL drivers. nm..i dont use defender...always keeping it disabled..and other Antiviruses not detecting Atsiv as trojan, spyware or anything else....i m still using atsiv to load my ATITraytools drivers on x64 vista. AMIT
  3. it depends on your BIOS dude. if your BIOS have a Memory Remapping option, thn enable it 1st. now it will allocate all 4GB RAM to your system. by default it only allocates 4gb ( 8GB in newer motherboards i think ) allocations for your physical devices like PCI cards, PCIE cards. and allocation size depends on your hardware , like if u have installed 512 MB gfx card ( in my case ) thn it will cost u 1 GB PAE allocation on ur system. so you will have only 3 GB memory allocation size left for your other devices. thts y ( in my opinion ) your BIOS showing you only 3 GB RAM.
  4. boot.wim contains files of WinPE . or u can say itself a PE. when u boot the vista DVD, 1st it starts WinPE from boot.wim . simply i say boot.wim contains setup file which launches windows setup after booting dvd. you dont need diff. boot.wim file for each version of vista. boot.wim contains 2 boot images in it.
  5. yeah right, i know it. thts y i m thinking to make a WinPE with that recovery tool ,specially for this. i want to know that which files are needed to implement that recovery manager into winpe? i m trying myself to do it though.
  6. i have following answers in my autounattend.xml file, caz of that, unattended installation aint showing recovery manager during setup of vista. the passes are <OSImage> <InstallFrom> <MetaData wcm:action="add"> <Key>/IMAGE/NAME</Key> <Value>Windows Vista Ultimate Edition</Value> </MetaData> </InstallFrom> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> </OSImage> <UserData> <ProductKey> <Key>XXXXX</Key> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> </ProductKey> <AcceptEula>true</AcceptEula> <FullName>Heaven</FullName> <Organization>Heaven</Organization> </UserData> i had tried to switch "accept EULA = false" but still it isnt showing recovery manager. can anyone help me that which setting from above needs to change, i can test by changing those values time by time, but it takes a lotta time. Regards AMIT
  7. you can try Eset's Smart secuirty Beta, its free as it is beta.
  8. @nmX.Memnoch, dude, only few mobos. can lock RAM FSB. mostly mobos. cant do it. and we are talking here abt GENERAL things.not advanced settings.let him do 1st basic settings requires to run his PC 3.33 stable. then he can lock his RAM. dont go advance directly without knowing tht his mobo supports this locking or not. and there isnt any connection between GPU and CPU overclocking as far i know. and he gets a new generation CPU so obviously have new mobo. which wont have any connection with GPU and CPU overclocking. and yeah...i have skipped all above boring posts except 1st main post.
  9. thnx for info. i knew tht above 3 mentioned files are patched, but was not sure if there were any more of them. now its clear these 3 files are patched only . Regards AMIT
  10. oh yeah? mine is running at 3 Ghz for last 7 months without any problems. if u dont know how to play with overclocking then u can leave it and shout as u did above. @iceangel89. yes 3.33 is safe . but u need to maintain temp. of CPU at this speed. if it goes overlimit then lower down vcore and keep checking it. adjust ur speed until u maintain safe temp. for ur CPU. P.S. overclocking FSB will increase RAM FSB too. but it wont affect GPU clocks anyway. GPU is totally independent from FSB overclocking. if u have nvidia card then u can use RivaTuner to overclock it. if ATI, then use ATITrayTools ( which i prefer ) ,ATItool or Rivatuner. Good luck! AMIT
  11. Hi frnds, i wanna know that while files are modified by this tool. so i can copy those patched files and can use it for my unattended installation. . Regards AMIT
  12. Jcarle, u need to change Voltages for ur CPU, RAM & Chipset to run it stable at 4 Ghz. these options are available in BIOS.
  13. i own a P5B-Deluxe. its Rock Solid!! i got 3 GHz easily with this mobo.
  14. i got all updates for vista x86 and x64. just type "vista" thts it.
  15. cool. easy way to get updates for manual installation. thnx for the news and link.
  16. yes, i got same problem. but i managed to get rid of this by starting some disabled ( which i had disabled for tweaking purpose ) services. and it worked fine. AMIT
  17. its like , if u have diabetics and u want to eat sweets, then sugarless sweets is only option for u, even knowing that there is no test in it. . same here for vista on 256 mb RAM.
  18. yeah i agree with you. do u have any problem running vista on NTFS? no? then y to do this ?
  19. imperial sucks! metric is easy to understand and easy to use .
