WPKG WPKG is an automated software deployment, upgrade and removal program for Windows. It can be used to push/pull software packages, such as Service Packs, hotfixes, or program installations from a central server (for example, Samba or Active Directory) to a number of workstations. It can run as a service to install software in the background, without user interaction. It can install MSI, InstallShield, PackagefortheWeb etc. packages, and all other packages using repackaging or some batch scripting. WPKG overview WPKG can add great value to your Samba or Active Directory setup, as it allows to perform software installation, updates, removal etc. on your workstations. It is also possible to execute custom scripts on your workstations, like synchronizing time, setting printers, changing permissions or adding registry entries (basically, some of the things you would do with Active Directory and Group Policy / GPO). This is a list that summarizes what WPKG can do for you: * deploy software in any format - MSI, EXE, etc. * deploy software to different groups of computers or single workstations * easily install, upgrade or remove software * a "pull" psexec equivalent * run custom scripts to set printers, synchronize time, manipulate permissions, add registry entries, change Windows settings etc. * work in a domain, in a workgroup, or even over internet or VPN (no domain controller needed) * work with Linux (Samba), Windows servers, or any other systems supporting Windows Network Neighbourhood * work with Windows 9x, Me, 2000, XP Pro/Home and 2003 clients * extremely small footprint on the client: no additional service is started * extremely small footprint on the server: no additional service/daemon is started * keep inventory of software installed on your Windows workstations For Downloading And More Information go to here http://wpkg.org/index.php/Main_Page Sorry if this topic is not so interesting OR sorry if u already know about this one! How To Open Compressed Cab Files?Simple!
amit_talkin replied to amit_talkin's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Um, yeah, that's nice, but after you have made changes to your expanded file and need to recab as a .xx_ file, how can you do it with the utilities mentioned in this thread? EXPAND and MAKECAB still have their place in my unattended world. just compress with any cabinet maker tool..like "cab pack" or anyother...and then change the extension to "XX_" thts it! -

-
it isnt matter that SFC is disable or enable..this pack not varifying that it is on or off! it just check that windows XP cd is inside or not! even if u disable SFC ..it will tell u to remove CD...and during T-13 stage..when this pack should be installed ( if svcpack of it can be made ) windows cd will be in drive obviously....and it wont let u install the pack.. thts it!
-
just do one thing...download this transformation pack! put your windows xp sp2 cd in cd drive...and try to install this pack on your system now! it will force u to remove your XP cd from cd-rom!
-
umm...should ask to microsoft about this issue!
-
thnx for solution m8!
-
yes..may be...he told tht he will fix all unattended issue! lets see!
-
let u make any other theme as default theme in winnt.sif file! ok now install your WMP11 added xp..you will see at last session ( just after runonceex ) there will a diologe box appears saying...PERSONALIZING SETTINGS...INTERNET EXPLORER....OUTLOOK EXPRESS...THEMES....and after this..your theme will became windows default even u have made another theme has default!!

Download Here! http://rapidshare.de/files/22863306/livemessenger.cab if you want to use it with RVM integrator....rename the file name with "programaddonlivemessenger" if u want just silent installer...just extract livemessenger.exe from svcpack directory Enjoy!
-
i dont think it will work if it will be available...caz we must eject windows cd during setup of this pack! so SVCPACK addon wont work with it! however..u can install it via runonceex ...just download a little utility named "CDR" which ejects the cd automatically via command prompt..and then installs this pack! Enjoy!! and about next release of this pack...it will be released on 24th August.( i have asked to WindowsX about next pack and he given me this date..it may be late ..so dont ask me )
-
yes..same problem here...no matter that it is boogy's WMP addon pack or WMP11 silent installer! both of them are causing the problem! i have also tried to install it via Runonceex but same result!so there is problem in WMP11 registry! i am also looking for solution!! any help will be appreciated! btw....Dino can close this topic..as this is not issue of nlite...we should start a new topic on "Unattended Windows Section"! shouldnt we??
-
oh..thnx for info. i was thinking that it was problem of nlite or ryanvm update pack! i was also integrating WMP11 via svcpack! btw...what if i install WMP11 from runonceex?still it will create problem?
-
yeah..i think it is due to ryanvm's update pack!! but why it is disableing themes ??
-
it is not due to registry.reg file!! caz at runonceex section....there is appearing a diologue box saying PERSONALIZING SETTINGS ...INTERNET...THEMES..and thats it...it desables themes.....!! this diologe box may be of nlite tweaks! anyway...i will find a way! let me remove entries for THEMES from nlite.inf & NLHIVE.inf...lets see what happens!
-
VTP 4 is made for unattended installation alreadY!! just read vtp.sif file and turn UNATTENDED SETUP=TRUE thats it!
-
no one? i hope Dino will help me!
-
look at the cmdlines.txt ...after runonceex section...nlite.inf installs registry tweaks...in it..it disables themes services...( nlite.inf have all tweaks which normally not running at runonceex section..this is strange )!! and i have tested it by installing nlited xp!
-
i have tried it too!! but same result! also changed the version to RC8 but none of them worked!
