Hi, installed in my system I have 1 gig of DDR2 PC5300 667mhz. I mistakenly bought an extra gig of DDR2 PC4300 533mhz. In the old days when I was up to speed with computers your RAM had to be matched, the question I have is: with the advances in technology can I add this extra stick or do I need to change it for an identical type? My motherboard is fairly new and the processor is a 3800 dual core AMD many thanks

I am a newbie around here, but what i gleaned from here and use is as above. Once the pssshutdown is in your system it works fine. Unless I am corrected try that. Do you have the following or similiar COPY "%systemdrive%\Install\Tools\deluser.exe" "%systemroot%\" COPY "%systemdrive%\Install\Tools\psshutdown.exe" "%systemroot%\" COPY "%systemdrive%\Install\Tools\pskill.exe" "%systemroot%\" in one of your first .cmd files?

Sorry to bump, has anyone any ideas how to install Office off the DVD instead of copying to HD first? thanks

I find this site to be one of the most `newbie` friendly I have come across. You only occasionally get a synical "use search" :/ The problem with the search is often you cant narrow down a decent keyword. For example I wanted to talk about DVD unattended installs ... It wont accept just `DVD` and I could not for the life of me pick the other keywords to assist. To that end it would be nice to see a few basic FAQ`s pinned. More importantly it would be great to see The latest script/method by individuals. As example I have tried to keep track of gosh`s scripts, without wanting to blow smoke up his butt They are **** good! Also without being disrespectful to others AaronXP, daveXP and gosh seem to have an encyclopedia of knowledge between them. Would it be possible to pin your scripts and commands that you use personally - as a reference/guide. They are scattered all over at present, thoughts ???

Tested the whole DVD and it works great, now just a few tweaks to sort out. I have my silent install apps in: $oem$\$1\install\Applications\ I have added Office11, Nero, Diskeeper 8 and a few other basics. That adds considerable size to the DVD I have, I assume an unecessary delay whilst installing as all the above gets obviously copied to my hard drive. to %systemdrive%\install To save time is it possible to install Office etc from the CD as oppose to copying 500mb to the hard drive first? I am trying to silent install diskeeper 8 now. Having searched the threads I see people use .msi to silent install. How do I convert an .exe to .msi ? thanks

ECHO Installing Office XP Professional with Frontpage ECHO Please wait... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=%systemroot%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\Unattended.MST /qb- in other words drop the TRANSFORMS c:\...eTC and replace with %systemroot% ? thanks
