@HyDeNCiTy he said he can only upgrade to office XP, 2k3 is out of the question i would agree 2k3 is an amazing product but if you had bothered to read his reply you would have noted he cant go to 2k3 only xp. @Professor Frink i would upgrade as 2000 will be going out of the support phase soon i would imagine without checking so the product wont get updated any more, also there are some new security features in xp which you might find useful such as attachment blocking etc.

windows 95 has problems running at over 350mhz also if your running a amd processor your going to have problems as well, you seem very inpatient and the best things in life come to those who wait

edit i mean something like what is mentioned here (http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/) use the idea here to make your own menu which you could also use to launch other programs.

i would simply recommend creating the menu again using something like a autorun program.

yer i can see how this would be very confusing for you the shortest way is using the alphabet i.e drivers\a drivers\b that way you get 26 folders as apposed to drivers\1 drivers\2 which would only give you 10 btw does 0 get processed before 1 or after 9?

to fix the run all setups at once thing why not make use of the start /wait or have the program run a batch file?

so the shorter your paths i.e Drivers\01 as apposed to Drivers\0001 the more drivers you can have right?

maybe if you had stated that in the 1st place, windows 2k supports the $docs as far as i am aware as well

why not use the $docs folder which points direct to the documents and settings folder, i.e $docs\all users\desktop $docs\all users\start menu\programs

i am very intrested in this project it would make one hell of a bootable disk because you can add every windows version. also i would say use the ini file because some will want all the os's and some only most used so they can each personalize the ini and you please more people. i have msn and feel free to add me (pm for address)

how about using the correct switches i dont know off hand but i know it isnt just /q

the only way i could think of was by using ghost to load a image of a hard disk which is bootable (e.g. sys C:) and contains the setup files with a modified autoexec.bat else i do not think there is any way to install from winpe.

Great idea guys, but can i ask how you will install windows 95, 98se and me from winpe, as far as i am aware only nt/2k/xp/2k3 support installation via winpe?

ok open up what you want a pic of press the print screen key while holding down ALT and you will only get a screen of the open window, now open up paint and paste the picture into that, save the file as a jpeg and then post a reply to this topic and above the submit post button there is a browse button click that browse to where you saved the file, now simple submit your post and your done. it sounds really cool idea

and used with standalone machines? i do not wish to setup the computers i install to a domain or even networked these are machines which are at people house totally standalone i want so i use unattended cd and a default set of group policy is in effect at first logon.

i am a little unsure i know how to setup a group policy on winxp pro machine but how do i replicate this to my automated cd, and accross a network so far i have not needed to do so but maybe in future who knows and you obviosly seem to know what your doing

well everybody has diffrent needs here, i have a nice black bin liner of about 20,000 coasters thats just this year alone oh i know about 2,000 are them AOL disks that seem to be flooding in from everywhere lol Longhorn is based in winpe setup your right

how did you install : Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional? I have tried InstallRite, but it always crashes when building the Installation Kit! ok: Start with a totally fresh install of winxp create a user called 'setup' with administrator rights remove all performance settings for this user (my computer) install installrite start it up click 'Create a manual snapshot' install your program & Make any changes you like which are recorded as well ie in office customize toolbar etc. click 'perform an analysis....' after that is completed click on build an install kit select Quiet installation never reboot and overwrite all files regardless of age so now when you call your created build kit file (.exe) you need to use no switches to install quietly and the installation is completed after the computer restarts because at the end of your main_batch.cmd i think the system is restarted completing your installation. I am thinking of making a tutorial for this because the instructions above are unclear i think, i will do one day this week and host myself unless a moderator or admin wants to make the tutorial available here i dunno what to do as contacting them as i can make many tutorials.

why install from network? i managed to get: Windows XP Home Sp1 Slipstream and hotfixes automated Windows XP Pro Corp SP1 Slipstream and hotfixes automated Microsoft Winpe Barts PE Version 1.0.1 Barts PE Version 1.0.2 Barts PE Version 1.0.3 Barts PE Version 1.0.4 Barts PE Version 1.0.5 Barts PE Version 1.0.6 ERD Commander 2002 ERD COmmander 2003 O&O Bluecon 4 & XXL and then i had room to place the 911 rescue cd on as well with complete set of utilites for those that wonder how its simple winpe is made from your winxp cd and contains more or less all files on your xpcd, erd commander and o&O bluecon are also made from winxp cd so there are a lot of identical files. just cdimage -o and you get a lot of optimization. i am playing around with winpe a lot so know many things.
